Timeform View

MARQUESSOFANGLESEY has underperformed on his last 2 starts but this looks a thin race and he'll be the one to beat if the return to a synthetic surface pays dividends. Salvezza rates as the biggest threat.

Timeform Comments

Arouse (IRE)
Looked as if he was being brought along gradually in 2 maidens last autumn. Will be of greater interest when qualified for handicaps after this return from a 10-month break (gelded).
Battlefield Boy (FR)
38,000 gns yearling, Saxon Warrior gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including winner up to 16.6f Francesco Baracca and 6f winner Lady Modena.
Marquessofanglesey (IRE)
Phoenix of Spain colt who went close under an attacking ride at Wolverhampton (8.5f) early in June. Pulled hard and again ran below that level when second of 5 in novice at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 42 days ago but will set the standard if a return to all-weather brings him back to his best.
Time Alone (IRE)
Lucky Vega gelding improved from debut when fourth of 5 in novice (14/1) at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 42 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole. Will likely have more chance in handicaps after this.
O'driscoll (IRE)
20,000 gns yearling, Ghaiyyath gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to high-class winner up to 1½m Best Solution and very smart 2-y-o 7f-1¼m winner (stayed 1½m) El Bodegon.
Salvezza
Lucky Vega colt who was very green on debut but knew more when fourth of 10 in novice at Southwell (1m, 25/1) 25 days ago, albeit having the run of the race. Repeat of that effort would see him in the mix.
Wild Rock (IRE)
27,000 gns 3-y-o, Ten Sovereigns colt. Brother to 8.4f-12.4f winner Gabon and half-brother to several winners, including 2-y-o 7f winner Serengeti Sky. Dam, unraced half-sister to Order of St George.
Muchacho (IRE)
Only modest form when third at Lingfield in June. Ran badly when last of 4 in maiden at Brighton (7f, good, 15/2) 9 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time.
