Timeform View

TAKAAFUL has made a promising start to his career with 2 in-frame efforts, still green when third at Chester last month, and she looks to hold leading claims back in a maiden. The biggest threat could come from Note To Self who drops into this company for the first time, while Fully Stocked remains capable of better.

Timeform Comments

Berkshire Dream
Foaled January 20. 25,000 gns foal, €45,000 yearling, Showcasing colt. Dam 7f-8.6f winner out of useful winner up to 1m (2-y-o 5f-6.5f winner) Penny's Gift. One to note on debut (wears tongue strap).
Carrow Road
Well held in a trio of starts so far, though got caught wide without cover when last of 12 in novice at Kempton (7f) 22 days ago. Strong-looking colt who ought to be capable of better based on pedigree, but he's probably more one for nurseries.
Fully Stocked (IRE)
Showed plenty to work on when second in a Kempton maiden on debut. Failed to repeat that effort when fourth of 5 at Nottingham in July, though the winner and third have both scored since. Could yet do better having been gelded.
Maxton
Foaled March 13. 170,000 gns yearling, Kingman colt. Dam, winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 7f winner), sister to useful winner up to 1½m Rainbow Sky out of smart 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Best Terms. Yard capable of readying a newcomer.
Note To Self
Took a step forward when placed in novices at Windsor (6f) and Yarmouth (7f) in July. Poorly drawn when well held on nursery debut at York 22 days ago, so no surprise to see him bounce back for his leading yard with cheekpieces fitted.
Pirates Paradise (IRE)
Showed encouragement when mid-field in a Yarmouth novice (7f) on debut, but was still in need of the experience when seventh of 12 in maiden at this course 19 days ago, again slowly away. Could be one for further down the line.
Tom Thumb
Ran green and offered little on debut when last of 8 in maiden at Newbury 15 days ago. Looks to be up against it.
Lady Of Lucca (IRE)
Showed some promise first time up when staying on for third in 6-runner novice over this C&D 16 days ago. Plenty more needed in this contest, though.
Takaaful
Shaped promisingly in 2 starts this summer, the least experienced in the field when third of 7 in conditions event at Chester 19 days ago. The one to beat with further improvement to come.
Tidal Blue (IRE)
Foaled April 13. €37,000 foal, £50,000 yearling, Dark Angel filly. Closely related to 2-y-o 1m winner Duke Legacy and half-sister to 5f winner Mutasawi and 6f-8.3f winner Luna Celeste. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner. Wears hood for debut and may just be better for this experience.
