VAFORTINO has shaped better than the bare result in valuable handicaps at Royal Ascot and Galway the last twice, looking unlucky not to win latterly. Well treated on past form, he can end his losing run granted better luck. Gleneagle Bay, also better than the result at Galway, rates the main danger from 3 lb lower, with Collecting Coin and Fort Vega also respected. Any market support for last year’s winner Rahmi would be well worth noting.

Has largely been running well at a higher level this year, twice finishing in the frame in listed events in the spring. Excuses at that level and in a Group 3 last 2 starts but will need to produce a career best if he's to make a winning return to handicap company.
Andab (IRE)
A useful 2-y-o listed winner. Has bettered that form when placed on his first 4 starts this year. Shaped as if still in good form when seventh of 16 in Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot (first home in near-side group) but below form at Goodwood last time. Makes handicap debut with visor back on.
Excellent Believe
Useful sort who has placed 4 times at Group 3/listed level but has been disappointing back in handicap company on last 2 starts. Makes debut for new connections after break.
Vafortino (IRE)
On a long losing run but has shaped better than the result in valuable handicaps the last twice, most recently when an unlucky 2-lengths third of 14 behind Dunum at Galway. Well treated and capable of a big showing if enjoying better luck in running.
Benevento (IRE)
Listed winner at 2 yrs and good fourth in the Craven at Newmarket on 3-y-o return. Not at that level since but has made a positive start for current yard, winning minor event at Gowran last month and then chasing home Bamako Beach in similar event at Cork 13 days ago. This is much tougher, though.
Dorset (IRE)
Useful sort that initially went down the Guineas route this season but has found himself in the role of pacemaker twice after finishing 4½ lengths fourth of 7 to Power Blue in Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh in July (also well beaten in Galway handicap). Plenty to find.
Fort Vega (FR)
Placed in big-field handicaps first 2 starts this year. Failed to make much of an impact upped to listed company last time but is now rated lower than he was earlier in the season and no surprise were he to bounce back reverting to a large-field scenario fitted with tongue strap.
Gleneagle Bay (IRE)
Attracted support and bounced back to form to win for the first time since his debut in 15-runner 7f handicap at Cork in June. Shaped better than the bare result at the Galway Festival next 2 starts and must be considered having been dropped 3 lb since his last run.
Mirsky
Proved at least as good as ever when landing the Thirsk Hunt Cup over 1m in May and produced his best effort since when 1½ lengths second of 9 to Spoken Truth at Ripon last time. On a good mark but consistency has never really been a strong suit.
Rahmi (IRE)
Produced a smart effort when winning this race last year off 10 lb higher mark, but has largely struggled and been hindered by slow starts since. Very well handicapped if staging a revival but hard to make a compelling case unless the market strongly suggests one is on the cards.
L L Koulsty (IRE)
Won at Cork (7f handicap on soft) and Naas (7f conditions race on good) in the summer before taking a notable step forward when 1½ lengths third of 11 to Suzie Songs in listed race at Cork last time. Returns to handicap from significantly higher mark now, though.
Sindagan (IRE)
Won 14-runner maiden at Galway (7f, good to soft) in July and then backed that performance up when 3¼ lengths sixth of 11 to Suzie Songs in listed race at Cork last month. Further progress required if he's to make an impact on handicap debut.
Collecting Coin
Bounced back to form for new yard with victory in 8-runner 7.5f handicap at Chester in July. Followed that up with another good effort when ½-length second of 13 to Whip Cracker in handicap over same C&D 3 weeks ago. Capable of being in the mix.
Carnival Of Light
Dual winner at Wolverhampton in July but yet to prove her effectiveness on turf and was well held at York last time.
Victory Tip (IRE)
Won 1m heavy-ground maiden at the Curragh in March and posted best effort since when second in a minor event at Naas in May. Found little off the bridle on handicap debut at Royal Ascot and this looks far too competitive.
Booyea (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run but went close from 2 lb lower mark at the Curragh in June. Has shaped as if still in form on both outings since, but this is likely to prove a bit too competitive for him.
Howd'yadoit (IRE)
Scored at Navan in May. Below that level since but took a step back in right direction when 4½ lengths fifth of 10 to Bear on The Run at the Curragh last time and has been given a real chance by the handicapper with a 6 lb drop. Unraced beyond 6f, though, and has stamina to prove.
Krasimir (IRE)
Yet to finish outside of the front 3, deservedly getting off the mark in maiden at Dundalk (1m) in July. Good effort when 4 lengths third of 19 to Blue Courvoisier in Sky Bet Mile Handicap at York last time and entitled to be thereabouts if handling the drop back to 7f.
Oro Blanco (IRE)
Won 14-runner 7f Fairyhouse maiden in June before dominating a match race with Gavoo at Naas (6f, good) 19 days later. Proved a let-down and carried head awkwardly switched to a large-field handicap scenario at the Curragh last time, however. RESERVE.
Temperance (IRE)
Sole success came in a 6f Naas handicap last spring. Has found things tough in listed races/Group 3 this season and looks too high in the weights now reverting to handicap company in a change of headgear. RESERVE.
Dark Viper
Enhanced fine course record with an easy 2-length success under a positive ride in 9f event here in July. Wasn't disgraced off 5 lb higher mark at the Curragh last time and one to consider if getting a run having come back down 2 lb since. RESERVE.
