Timeform View

BRIGID'S WELL had edged down the weights prior to making the frame at Goodwood 2 weeks ago and she gets the verdict with her mark unchanged. Aravalli continues to progress and is respected, with John T an interesting candidate on his belated seasonal return.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Brigid's Well is one who could suffer as a result: A proliferation of possible pace-forcers could set things up for those coming from further back: Aravalli is one who may benefit.

Timeform Comments

Great Bedwyn
Winless since last season's return but finished second in same race this season. Made no impact when seventh of 14 in handicap at Epsom (1½m, good) 14 days ago and is now 6 lb below last winning mark.
Son Of Man (IRE)
Won over this trip at Lingfield in April and beaten a nose there soon after but recent efforts on turf suggest he's gone off the boil.
Macari
Close second in a small-field affair in May and ran to similar level despite beating just one home at Sandown next time. No excuses for his latest poor effort there, though.
John T
Didn't need to improve to land a gamble in a 10-runner handicap at Kempton (1½m, 10/3). Returns from 11 months off from a 4 lb higher mark but is still relatively unexposed.
Brigid's Well (IRE)
Thirsk novice winner at 2 yrs prior to making the frame in a Newmarket listed event. Made her most significant impact in a handicap when giving a bold bid from the front (in first-time cheekpieces, retained) when fourth of 10 at Goodwood (1¼m, good to soft) 15 days ago. Shortlist material.
Aravalli (IRE)
Has thrived since going handicapping for current yard, making it 4 wins from 5 starts when scoring in 4-runner contest at Windsor last month. Couldn't add to that tally but improved again in a higher grade when third of 6 in handicap at Bath (11.6f, good) 12 days ago.
King Of Berkshire (IRE)
Made a promising start in handicaps, scoring at Redcar in April before doubling his tally in 6-runner 1½m event at Thirsk in June. Returned to form with the benefit of the run of the race when second of 10 in handicap at Ascot (1½m, good to firm) 37 days ago and he's respected.
Parisian Scholar
Bagged a pair of handicaps at Thirsk and Newmarket in July. Wasted no time getting back to form having dropped in grade when second of 4 in handicap at Newmarket (1½m, good to firm) 24 days ago, though suspicion remains he might prove more effective over further.
Zarakerjack (FR)
Winner on the Flat at Newbury last May. Placed in a couple of juvenile hurdles for this yard in the winter and returned with a foot wound when last seen at Fakenham. Best watched after 6 months off.
