Timeform View

HOWYASOX has been given plenty of time to recover from her fall at Cork in July and, back down in trip, should take plenty of beating in a winnable maiden if reproducing the form she looked set to show before departing. Vargas hasn’t shown much so far but represents a top yard and the booking of Jack Kennedy suggests better is expected, while Kalico Leader would ideally want further but is respected in a race lacking depth.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Howyasox traded at a low of 7.80 and Betfair SP of 97.41 when falling last time, a race in which it raced behind.

Timeform Comments

Akako (IRE)
Sign of ability when mid-division at best in trio of maiden hurdles but remains likely to come into his own once handicapping.
Eternal Reward (IRE)
Stepped up on hurdling debut when 26½ lengths sixth of 8 to Splendid Fellow in maiden at Kilbeggan 28 days ago, but needs to brush up his jumping and likely has low-level handicaps on the agenda once qualified.
It's Buster's Way (IRE)
Well held in a pair of bumpers. Makes hurdling debut.
Kalico Leader (IRE)
Made frame both completed starts in points. Shaped as if needing more of a test when fifth of 14 in maiden at Bellewstown (2½m, good) on hurdling debut before failing to complete at Navan last time. Should bounce back for all he'd ideally be suited by a longer trip than this.
Lincall (FR)
Fifth in big-field maidens on at Clonmel and Naas last season but hasn't progressed since, including on handicap/stable debut.
Rodeo Joe (IRE)
Has yet to show anything in 2 maiden hurdles and a chase.
Vargas (IRE)
Turned in better effort over hurdles when sixth of 15 in conditional maiden at Ballinrobe (2¼m, good, 50/1) in August. Might have handicaps on the agenda but has been found a very winnable race and booking of Jack Kennedy looks a big plus.
Woodie Wiley (IRE)
Well held on completed starts in bumpers and maidens hurdles.
Ddakji (IRE)
Never threatened to justify support on hurdling debut at Leopardstown in December. Still looked to have plenty to learn on second bumper start at Kilbeggan latest and may need more time back over hurdles.
Down After Dark (IRE)
Well beaten both completed starts in maidens.
C'mere Girleen (IRE)
Little show either start in mares maiden hurdles. Returns from 14 months off.
Howyasox (IRE)
Was in the process of showing much improved and looked likely to be placed when falling heavily at the last in 3m maiden at Cork in July. A repeat of that performance minus the error will see her go very close here.
Pixie Hill (IRE)
Hasn't made much impact in 4 maidens and is likely one for staying handicaps.
