SERGEANT MAYER is thriving at present, completing the hat-trick with a bit to spare at Redcar last week, so a penalty might not prevent him from scoring again. Dc Cogent is also in good heart having dropped in the weights and is the pick for second, ahead of Cotai Starlight.

Capitalised on his reduced mark at Nottingham in August and followed up at Leicester, before also scoring in decisive fashion at Redcar 8 days ago. Carries a penalty but he can make another bold bid in his current form.
Blue Force (IRE)
After 3 months off, bounced back to winning ways from his reduced mark at Wolverhampton (6f) in August. Has continued in good heart both outings since despite starting slowly, fourth of 10 over this C&D 12 days ago.
King Of The Jungle (IRE)
Proved as good as ever this year with back-to-back wins at Beverley and Ayr. However, after 9 weeks off he ran poorly in his hat-trick bid when well held at Hamilton in August. Bounce back called for returned to all-weather (dual C&D winner).
Golden Havana (IRE)
Ended 2025 with success over this C&D in December. Had been proving consistent in defeat this season until having excuses the last twice, denied a clear run at Redcar 16 days ago. Could fare better back here.
Celtic Arrow (FR)
Made the frame in maidens at this course on first 3 starts and improved when runner-up on handicap debut at Thirsk (6f) in July. Hasn't quite managed to kick on since, though wasn't disgraced when fifth of 14 here (6f) last time. Cheekpieces added.
Mayflyer
Went the right way in 3 starts for Harry Charlton early this year and, after 5 months off, took another step forward on handicap/stable debut when third over this C&D in July. Will need to find more again after a further 2 months off.
Dc Cogent
Sole success came in a C&D maiden last spring but has made the frame several times in handicaps this year, racing off a career-low mark when second of 13 at Redcar 16 days ago. Can make his presence felt once more.
Cotai Starlight (IRE)
Much improved when getting off the mark at Ayr (6f) in July and has placed over 5f at Carlisle on last 2 starts, sticking to her task when third of 12 on latest outing. Uphill course here should suit so she enters calculations.
What A Tahoo (IRE)
Has landed a trio of handicaps this year, the latest on all-weather at Lingfield in August. However, she's been proving a bit in and out, following that effort with a lesser one when last of 6 at Southwell early in September.
Powernap
Runner-up on first 2 starts fitted with a tongue strap before going one better at Catterick in June. Has found her run of good form coming to a halt the last twice, though, well held back at the same course 5 weeks ago.
