EVANESCO has developed into a smart handicapper and can resume winning ways on the back of a cracking run in Ireland. The main danger could be Old Newton Cup winner Sportingsilvermine, who's enjoyed a largely stellar season for the excellent James Owen team, with Primo Lara also respected in his current vein of form.

Uncomplicated sort. Travelled well/tracked a true pace when landing the Silver Bell Handicap at Hamilton in August. Since posted another smart performance when 1¾-length fifth in a valuable big-field handicap at Leopardstown (13f), and he looks the class act in this field.
Ernst Blofeld (IRE)
Quirky sort who recorded a second career win at Kempton in late-May. Remained in form in top-end handicaps since, aided by the run of the race when 1¼-length second in the Mallard at Doncaster (14.5f). Things unlikely to unfold as favourably back down in distance but good-value claimer takes over.
Tycoon
Potentially well treated on the pick of his efforts this season, notably close third in a smart 9f handicap here in May. Shaped as if ready for this step back up in trip when 2¾-length fourth at Yarmouth (9f) last time. Forecast strong pace certainly favours this free-going 4-y-o, too.
Arqoob (IRE)
Quirky sort has been a grand servant for connections. Overcame a pace bias to narrowly complete a July Course double (goes particularly well on that track) in August. Still in good form despite only beating one home in the Mallard latest. Likely vulnerable off an unchanged mark.
Sportingsilvermine (IRE)
Career best when doubling his tally for the year in the Old Newton Cup (1½m) on the July Course here. Still looked in top form prior to racing too keenly when switched to front-running tactics at Doncaster (1¼m) latest. Should be seen to much better effect off a likely strong pace here.
Primo Lara (IRE)
Back to his best when making it 3 wins from 4 starts at Kempton last month. Turned in another solid effort when 4½-length third off this mark in a useful race at Newbury (13.5f) last time. Clearly in fine fettle and should give another good account with Saffie Osborne (1-1) returning.
Topteam (IRE)
Hit-and-miss front runner who resumed progress when successful on return at Kempton (1½m) in April. Beat a couple of today's rivals when runner-up over C&D the following month. Now 2 lb below that mark following a quieter spell and dangerous to dismiss if on a going day.
Blue Hercules (IRE)
Free-going maiden who often races prominently. Posted a couple of fairly useful efforts in Ascot handicaps earlier this summer. Overexuberance contributed to a 10-length defeat in Carlisle maiden (11f) latest, however, he's not out of this if consenting to settle back in handicap company.
