MOONOVERCLOON represents a yard that has won the last 2 renewals of this race and looks to have been laid out for this. He gets the nod, with Mordor and Cobra Queen looking best of the rest.

Timeform Comments

Born Braver (IRE)
Won Ulster National at Downpatrick (extended 3½m) in March but followed that with 2 poor efforts. Potentially well treated back over hurdles on the back of a 5-month break, but yard is going through a relatively quiet spell and the market will likely prove most informative.
Cobra Queen (IRE)
Gained reward for some consistent efforts when winning 11-runner mares handicap at Ballinrobe 22 days ago by 2¼ lengths from Run For The Border. A 6 lb rise puts her on a career-high mark, though, and therefore improvement will be required if she's to follow up.
Fad Eadrainn (IRE)
Won minor event at Fairyhouse last season. Ran well when 2¾ lengths fourth of 24 to Blue Mosque in listed handicap at Punchestown when last seen in April. Has run well off a break before but others preferred.
Mordor (FR)
Won twice in this sphere last season and 11-runner handicap on Flat at Navan (1¾m) in March. Below form in heritage handicaps last 2 starts. Reverts to hurdling from a competitive mark and is entitled to be thereabouts.
Jacovec Cavern
Winning chaser who got off the mark over hurdles in handicap at Punchestown in April. Followed that with pair of solid placed efforts but shaped as if amiss at Killarney in July and fared no better back over fences when last seen. Needs to bounce back but claims if doing so.
My Trump Card (IRE)
Capitalised on a much-reduced mark when landing 9-runner 2m handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan in September. Wasn't in the same form last time, though, and has a bit to find on form.
Zoffman (IRE)
Useful 1½m winner on the Flat who hasn't got close to that level over hurdles, and while he arrives in good form from the former, he has stamina to prove now tackling 3m in this sphere.
Moonovercloon (IRE)
Low-key start for connections but shaped as if back in form prior to making one mistake too many when falling in maiden chase at Kilbeggan last time, looking set to finish second at time. Returns to hurdling from lower mark for yard that have won last 2 renewals of this race.
Butter Fingers (IRE)
Justified support when winning 12-runner handicap chase at Wexford in May by 1¼ lengths from Tequila Talkin'. Bounced back from below-par effort at Galway when 1¾ lengths second of 13 to Soldante at Kilbeggan 29 days ago. Needs to improve on previous hurdling efforts to feature, though.
Born Bright (IRE)
Dual-winning hurdler in 2024/25 and matched that feat over the larger obstacles last season. Acquitted herself well under both codes first 2 starts this season, though wasn't on a going day on return from 4-month break 7 days ago and is best watched here as a result.
Lough Nigara (IRE)
Improved last season, winning handicap hurdles at Punchestown and Thurles and also placed on 5 different occasions. However, he flat out refused to race at Downpatrick when last seen and must be considered an unreliable betting proposition as a result.
Better Times (IRE)
Fair winner at 2¾m over hurdles. Didn't quite match that level of form in a couple of starts over fences in the late-spring/early-summer. Shaped as if sharper for the run returned to this sphere on back of a 3-month break last time. Capable of being involved if staying the 3m trip.
Smallcraftwarning (IRE)
Won 13-runner handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (25f) in September and proved better than ever when landing an 11-runner handicap at Roscommon 5 days ago by 1¼ lengths from Milan Forth. A 6 lb rise makes life harder, though, and steps back up in grade here.
