Timeform View

BROOKSIDE LA shaped very well considering the severity of a mistake around halfway when third at Haydock back in early-April so, provided he's ready to roll, Dan Skelton's 6-y-o can make amends despite a further 4 lb nudge. Heading up the opposition is Not At That Price, who ran his best race in maidens last time and may have more to offer now handicapping on return. Fighting Falcon and Constantinian can fight out minor honours.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Brookside La traded at a low of 1.93 and Betfair SP of 2.88 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Gasmani (IRE)
Got off the mark over hurdles at Taunton in April and posted an even better effort when finishing runner-up there 13 days later. Failed to replicate that form when finishing tailed off here (23f, good) in May and the likelihood is he will need this (has had a breathing operation).
Brookside La (IRE)
Came from a less-than-ideal position to make a winning handicap debut at Wetherby on Boxing Day. Ran well when third at Haydock the following month and filled that same position there 3 months later, shaping very well considering a bad mid-race blunder. Big shout on return.
Vicki Vale (IRE)
Won twice for Dan Skelton and shaped as if retaining her ability after 18 months off when fourth of 7 at Fakenham (2½m, good to firm) in April. Presumably had her issues to not have been seen since so percentage call is to look elsewhere.
Fighting Falcon (IRE)
Minor promise only in Ireland but produced a much-improved effort fitted with first-time cheekpieces when winning 12-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (2½m, good to soft) on yard debut in May. Ran no sort of race at Southwell the following month and off since (has had a breathing operation).
Not At That Price
Fair bumper performer who ran his best race in maiden hurdles when second of 7 at Uttoxeter (2m, good) back in early-May. First-time tongue tie applied for this handicap debut and may well have more to offer back up in trip.
October Hill (IRE)
Opened her account at Ffos Las in May and ran to a similar level when finishing runner-up at Uttoxeter in July. Stretched by longer trip at Perth next time but ran no sort of race returned to Uttoxeter recently (off the bridle before most).
Constantinian (IRE)
Fairly useful bumper winner who is getting better over hurdles and shaped as if he may be ready for 3m when rallying into third on 19f Carlisle handicap debut in March. Didn't get home at Ffos Las when last seen in early-May so no surprise to see him return at 2½m
Roe And Co (IRE)
Little show in 3 starts over hurdles but proved a different beast over fences last season, completing a hat-trick at Leicester back in December. Ended his campaign with a whimper though and returns for a new yard with attentions reverted to hurdles in first-time blinkers. Best watched.
Maximum Benefit (IRE)
Offered a tad more than previously when fifth of 11 in maiden hurdle at Fontwell in March but jumped ponderously when finishing tailed off there the following month. Makes return/handicap debut with first-time cheekpieces and a tongue tie applied.
Getaway With You
Ground-versatile sort who won 4 times around 2½m last season. Back in form when beaten 10½ lengths over a trip that perhaps stretched him at Stratford (3¼m) in April but hard to glean much encouragement from both recent efforts. Now has something to prove.
