Timeform View

ARVANA BELLE posted another solid effort when finishing runner-up (for the third time in her last 4 starts) at Ffos Las recently so Rod Millman's filly gets the tentative nod to gain reward for her consistency and make a winning all-weather debut. Miss Mambo has been knocking at the door and fitted with more severe headgear, she's put forward as the main threat. Captive Beauty and Ernie McCrew can fight out third.

Timeform Comments

Captive Beauty (IRE)
Just failed to make a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton (7f) and backed that up at the second attempt when third of 11 at Yarmouth in late-August. Not in the same form back at former course last month and her patchy profile tempers enthusiasm from a win perspective.
Positive Thoughts (IRE)
Remains a maiden and again didn't look the easiest ride minus her usual headgear when fourth of 10 at Newcastle (1m) just under 3 weeks ago. Loughnane booked but she's one to treat with caution.
Twilight Baby
Just modest form in her 4 runs so far, most recently when third of 4 in maiden at Brighton (7f, good) just over 5 weeks ago. Needs this handicap debut to spark some improvement.
Miss Mambo (IRE)
Ran well when second of 10 at Southwell (1m) in early-August but performed a shade below that level when fourth of 12 at Wolverhampton (8.6f) the following month. First-time visor replaces the blinkers and that could elicit further improvement.
Ernie Mccrew (IRE)
Gained reward for some good placed efforts in recent months when getting off the mark in 1m Lingfield handicap in first-time cheekpieces last month. Things didn't really go his way at Wolverhampton last time so worth treating as still in form.
Lihou Lady
Little promise in 3 all-weather starts and did plenty wrong on handicap/turf debut at Chepstow (1m, good to firm) back in May, more to her waywardness than just the undulating track.
Grand Vista (IRE)
Maiden who underperformed and looked awkward to boot without his usual headgear when seventh of 9 at Ffos Las (1m, heavy) 12 days ago.
Grey Sands (IRE)
Scored at Southwell (1m) for Joseph O'Brien back in January. Below that form for his current yard though (including over hurdles) so not easy to warm to despite a sliding mark.
Henfield
Won 1m classified race at Lingfield in July. Upped her game again when second of 9 in handicap there last month but run of good form halted at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 10 days ago. Bounce back needed.
Alice's Influence
Gained a first win at Wetherby in April and largely in good nick since, not disgraced with the visor back on dropped into classified company when fourth of 8 at Ffos Las (1m, good to soft) 6 weeks ago. Headgear left off for her return to a handicap.
Call Alert
Well beaten in a couple of all-weather handicaps last month. Needs first-time cheekpieces to have a transformative effect.
Arvana Belle (IRE)
Has just the one win to her name but has finished runner-up 3 times from her last 4 starts, shaping better than the distance beaten suggested at Ffos Las (1m, heavy) 12 days ago, sure to have been a fair bit closer granted a fair shake of the dice. In the mix on all-weather debut.
Girls Allowed (IRE)
Ran her best race to go close in a 7f classified event at Yarmouth in August. Tailed off on both subsequent outings so best watched for now. Returns to all-weather for the first time since her debut.
Wild Rosie
Ran one of this season's better races when fourth of 10 at Lingfield (1¼m) last month. Not in the same form back down in trip at Wolverhampton (8.6f) since and others look stronger for win purposes.
