Timeform View

This looks wide open but it could be worth siding with dual C&D scorer HAVANA TOUCH who wasn't at his best in the mud at Ayr last time and can bounce back in style here with Billy Loughnane now up. A La Noche remains handily weighted and could emerge as the main danger, although Valentine Boy is another to consider returned to his optimum trip.

Timeform Comments

Marsh Benham (IRE)
Temperamental sort but he doubled his tally for the season at Epsom (8.5f) in September. Solid fifth of 10 in handicap at Brighton (1m, good) 11 days ago. Not discounted.
A La Noche (IRE)
Lightly-raced 5-y-o who got off the mark at Salisbury (1m) in September. Ran poorly when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good to firm, 7/2) 15 days ago but not written off on polytrack debut.
Eupator (FR)
Made all twice at Wolverhampton in January. Has failed to beat a rival at Salisbury and Chester on his last 2 runs though. Bounce back is required.
Mr Nugget
In excellent form on all-weather at the start of the year with 3 wins. Well held on his last 3 runs though, off 4 months before last of 6 in handicap at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) in July.
Havana Touch
Gained a second C&D win of 2026 in June. Good second at Lingfield (1m, all-weather) next time but well held on soft ground at Ayr (1m) 22 days ago. Remains one to be interested in back here with Billy Loughnane in the saddle.
Happy Banner (IRE)
Fourteen runs since his last win in 2024 and he came in a below-form eighth of 13 in handicap over C&D 30 days ago. This course winner needs to take a step forward.
Potomac River
Still a maiden but in good nick until coming in last of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) 15 days ago. Needs to bounce back.
Liberate
Doubled her tally on second run for new yard at Brighton in August but well held both subsequent runs at Chepstow and over C&D 16 days ago. Has a bit to prove now.
Tronido
Made all at Epsom (8.5f) in August but ridden too aggressively when seventh of 9 there (8.5f, good) 29 days ago. This course winner can bounce back after a break.
Valentine Boy
Notched a second C&D success in May. Not at his best of late tried over 11f, a free-going sixth of 9 here last time. Not discounted now reverted in trip.
Connie Moon (IRE)
Still seeking her first win but not disgraced after 6 months off when fifth over 11f here and seemed unsuited by the mud when well held at Goodwood since. No forlorn hope.
