Timeform View

YULIA was well backed and shaped with plenty of encouragement in spite of a troubled passage on her Irish debut and she gets the verdict over recent winners Factual Fact and Holy See.

Timeform Comments

Emit (IRE)
Won a listed race at Gowran last summer before finishing placed in 2 Group races at Longchamp. Ran well when 2¼ lengths third of 7 to Scandinavia in listed race at Navan (1¾m) in April and wasn't seen to best effect in another listed event here (1½m) 11 days ago. Makes handicap debut.
Dawn Rising (IRE)
Veteran who finished runner-up in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket on his final start last season. Has shaped as if just getting up to speed on 2 outings so far this term and might still prove better at further at this stage of his career.
Holy See (IRE)
Fairly useful form on the Flat in France at the start of his career and similar standard over hurdles for current connections, winning a Limerick novice this winter. Improved back on the level when also landing a 9-runner handicap at Gowran (1½m, soft) in April and he's considered from 5 lb higher.
Perry Mason
Goes well here, gaining a second success at the track in March before proving his effectiveness under quicker conditions when also scoring in a 20-runner handicap at this course (1¼m, good to firm, 16/1) 11 days ago. Not certain to benefit from this markedly longer trip, though.
Tyson Fury
Capitalised on a drop in grade to win a Dundalk claimer in March. Runner-up in maiden hurdles at Tramore and Killarney since but is probably vulnerable to less exposed rivals back in a Flat handicap.
Poetic Sound (IRE)
Useful form last spring but he ended 2025 below his best. Nevertheless, he's attractively handicapped at present and there was encouragement to be taken with a view to going back up in trip when third of 10 in handicap at Leopardstown (1½m, good, 13/2) on return 19 days ago,
Too Bossy For Us (IRE)
Placed in 2 big-field handicaps up to 2m here and at Leopardstown last season. Since showed useful form over hurdles and is probably worth market check on first Flat outing of the year.
Granite Bay
Likeable sort who typically gave his running when fourth behind Holy See at Gowran (1½m, soft) on return, and while this is a deeper race, he's not ruled out in his bid for a fourth career success.
Tribal Star (IRE)
Reliable sort has made the frame on all 5 outings so far this season, most recently finishing third of 17 in the Chester Cup (18.6f, good to firm). Should give his running again but others strike as likelier winners back down in trip.
Yulia (FR)
A dual winner in France. Gambled-on 11/4 and tongue tied, suffered a troubled passage on yard debut when fifth of 10 in handicap at Sligo 20 days ago, finishing with running left. Very much the type to improve even further for this yard.
En Or (FR)
No better than mid-division in 4 starts on the Flat last season. Held back by his jumping over hurdles this winter, albeit shaping as if in good when last seen at Punchestown in February. Others look more solid overall.
Factual Fact (FR)
Impressive bumper winner who has run to a fairly useful level on the Flat, shaping well when second of 14 in handicap at the Curragh (1½m, heavy) on reappearance. Confirmed that promise when winning a 9-runner handicap at Killarney (17f, good) 3 weeks ago and he's high on the shortlist again.
