Timeform View

The way TYSON stuck to his task when doubling his tally at Huntingdon last week suggests he's well worth a go at this sort of trip and if he does see it out, he may well defy a penalty. Broadway Honey has a bigger performance in her, while stablemate Touchwoodexpress is sure to be well prepared for this reappearance.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Tyson traded at a high of 22.00 and Betfair SP of 2.66 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Tyson (GER)
Confirmed promise of an eye-catching run when landing gamble at Newcastle (2½m) in March. Little impact off 9 lb higher in a better race at Fakenham next time but eased in class and resumed winning ways in ultimately clear-cut fashion at Huntingdon last week. Carries penalty upped markedly in trip.
Baltray (IRE)
Hit-and-miss performer who found only an improver too strong in 2¾m Stratford handicap in October. In nothing like the same form next 2 starts 4 months apart but upped to this sort of trip and much more like it when third at Newton Abbot 4 weeks ago.
Spitalfield (IRE)
Ran up to his best when placed 3 times during the summer (twice under the returning Richie McLernon). Went into his shell after but fitted with cheekpieces, he stopped the slide when third of 8 in handicap hurdle at this course (25f) a month ago. Needs to back that up.
Groom De Cotte (FR)
Ended last season at the top of his game having won 2 of his final 3 starts, including over fences at Huntingdon. Made an encouraging return back hurdling after 9 months off when fourth of 8 back there in November but ran no sort of race at Chepstow in April, albeit minus usual tongue tie.
Touchwoodexpress (IRE)
Wheels came off over fences in 2024/25 but very well prepared to make a successful reappearance over hurdles in September (3¼m). Reported to have bled and not in the same form both starts later that autumn. Off since but clearly very capable fresh.
Broadway Honey (IRE)
Showed a bit in maiden/novice hurdles and while she hasn't fired in 3 handicaps, she did shape better than the result upped to 25f at Warwick 25 days ago. Bred to stay well and unexposed over this sort of trip.
Walkinthecotswolds (IRE)
Has been out of sorts since falling at Ffos Las last winter, pulled up after a bad mistake at the third over fences at Cartmel 11 days ago.
Luna Run (IRE)
Reported to have a respiratory issue again when third of 9 at Plumpton on final start for Evan Williams last October. Heavily backed starting out for Harry Derham but failed to see it out in 21f handicap here a month ago. Tongue strap returns back up in distance. 3 lb out of the weights.
Hitthekettle (IRE)
Winning Irish pointer but very little to recommend on his efforts last season. 19 lb out of the weights.
