Timeform View

DEVIOUS DEVAN gained a breakthrough success in good style at Wolverhampton last month, doing well to overcome a steady pace, and with the runner-up having won since he looks very much the way to go here. Grey Soul made an encouraging start for Dan Horsford when fourth at Kempton and is next on the list ahead of Sea The Light and Norflondonforever.

Timeform Comments

Nakaaha
C&D winner in August and back in good nick, not clear run over 2f out when fifth of 11 in handicap at Salisbury (1m) 12 days ago. Not ruled out eased 1 lb.
Orchard (FR)
Gained a first win at Kempton (7f) last May but off since coming in last of 14 in handicap at Newbury (1m) 11 months ago. Has his fitness to prove here.
Sea The Light (IRE)
Winless since his debut but he resumed from 7 months off with a solid seventh (first-time blinkers) in handicap at Newcastle (1¼m) 34 days ago. Not out of things with cheekpieces back on now.
Grey Soul (IRE)
Ended 2025 with breakthrough win (blinkers on) at Newcastle in October on his final run for Roger Varian. Back for his new yard with an encouraging fourth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (1m) 31 days ago, nearest finish. Needs considering with cheekpieces added.
Norflondonforever (IRE)
Lightly-raced sort who landed 1m handicap at Kempton last May. Off 13 months and went freely when beating one in handicap at Haydock (1¼m) 13 days ago. Cheekpieces added back in trip now so could bounce back.
Sixfiveseven
Scored at Newmarket (1m) in 2024 for Keiran Burke. Off 16 months but took a step back in right direction when sixth of 11 in handicap at Chepstow (7f) 14 days ago. Needs to build on it.
Thiscouldbefun (IRE)
Resumed winning ways on all-weather at Lingfield (1m) in October but below par in 1m handicaps there and at Southwell in December. More is required after a break.
Toralou (IRE)
Won 1m Musselburgh maiden last summer but just the one decent effort in handicaps since. Needs to take a big step forward.
Auburn Avenue (IRE)
Ex-Irish maiden who signed off for Christopher Timmons with a good second of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (1m) in October. Needs to hit the ground running for her new handler.
Eagle Day (IRE)
Ended a long losing run at Wolverhampton in March (second past the post but promoted) but he beat only one back on turf in handicap at Nottingham (1m) following month. Eyeshields go on for 1st time.
Opening Bat
Won at Kempton (1m) last spring and largely ran well after in 2025. Failed to beat a rival though on his return in handicap at Chepstow (7f) 14 days ago. Not written off yet.
Mereside Madness (IRE)
Won over 7f at Thirsk last summer for David & Nicola Barron but below par since, including in 3 runs for current yard this season. Hard to warm to.
Devious Devan (IRE)
Finally got off the mark in 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton 30 days ago, deserving extra credit given he overcame a pace bias. Up 3 lb but runner-up has gone in since so he's a major player.
