Timeform View

Dan Skelton has made an excellent start to the season, even by his own high standards, and LORIKO looks another likely winner. One-time useful Flat performer Biggles is worth monitoring in the betting ahead of his belated hurdling debut and could be next best.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Loriko traded at a high of 2.42 and Betfair SP of 2.12 when winning last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Loriko (FR)
Fairly useful sort who got off the mark with something to spare in a match race at Huntingdon (21f) last time. Drop back to 2m shouldn't be an issue and has been found an excellent opportunity to follow up under a penalty for yard operating at 36% strike rate so far in 2026/27.
Biggles
Useful 7f Flat handicapper who's been off since finishing down the field in a pair of starts for Eve Johnson Houghton in 2024. Pedigree offers some hope he'll make a hurdler (dam a half-sister to Lossiemouth, a useful winner over hurdles for Tom Lacey) and he needs a market check on his return.
Minella Blizzard (IRE)
Getaway gelding. Closely related to fair chaser Rocks Up Late (2m-2¼m winner). Dam (h107), 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to high-class hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 21f) Wicklow Brave. Pulled up sole start in Irish points in April and is probably one for the down the line.
Starshine Legend (IRE)
Fair middle-distance winner on the Flat who's been below form both starts on the level for new connections (formerly with James Ferguson), though plenty of reasons to think he'll make a hurdler, and the market should offer plenty of clues first time up in this sphere.
White Riot (FR)
Looked a good prospect when a fairly useful winner of a bumper at Wetherby last spring but has clearly had his problems since, underlining a disappointing start to his hurdling career with a late fall (when beaten) at Southwell last time.
