Timeform View

PEARL EYE has made a promising start for Jim Goldie and is fancied to get off the mark for the yard now refitted with headgear off a lenient-looking mark. Highland Olly could get his own way in front and may emerge as the main danger, although Draupnir, Qitaal and Zowal also need factoring into this open handicap.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Obito traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP, 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Obito (IRE)
Blue Point gelding who did well last season, winning twice (including here). Looked short of peak fitness on his return when eighth of 10 in handicap over C&D 20 days ago. Can take a step forward now.
Zowal (FR)
Got back on the up with win in 9-runner handicap at Pontefract (1m) in April. Remains low mileage and needs considering nudged up 2 lb.
Qitaal
It's now seventeen runs since his last win in 2024 but he posted a good second of 6 in handicap at Leicester (1¼m) 10 days ago. Should remain competitive.
Mr Lincoln
Had some quite useful Flat form in Ireland for previous stable. Little better than modest form over hurdles for Iain Jardine and only eighth on Flat at Musselburgh in April. More required.
Highland Olly
Bagged a fourth success at Nottingham and followed up later in April in 1m handicap at Ripon. Unable to lead when fifteenth of 22 at York (7f) 20 days ago but could get his own way in front here so no surprise to see him bounce back.
Pearl Eye
Ended last season below form but has shaped well for his new yard both runs this season, fourth of 11 in handicap at Ayr (9f) 15 days ago when faring best of those held up. Cheekpieces go back on here and he's a player eased 1 lb with Paul Mulrennan up first time.
Draupnir
Landed 7f Thirsk handicap in September and back in good form this season, hooded when a strong-finishing fifth of 10 in handicap over C&D 20 days ago. Not out of things with relatively few miles still on the clock.
Penelope's Sister (IRE)
Enjoyed a tremendous 2025, winning 3 times over 1m. Yet to fire in a couple of 1m Ayr handicaps this spring so this course scorer needs to take a step forward.
Tee Aitch Aye (IRE)
Sole win came over C&D in September. Has failed to beat a rival in handicaps at Newcastle and over C&D this spring so has plenty to prove.
