ADELAIDE BAY has a less-than-ideal draw to overcome but confirmed he's one to be interested in when second behind reopposing Fort Augustus at Southwell recently, finishing well having been left with too much do. He can confirm his present mark a workable one, with last-time-out winner Yehudi and Split Elevens heading up the dangers.

Timeform Comments

Majestic Wave
Fallen a long way in the weights without looking ready to take advantage, faring no better after 6 months off when ninth of 11 in a C&D handicap in April. Drawn wider than ideal on this occasion.
Enpassant (IRE)
Bounced back to something like his best down in grade when successful at Southwell (7f) in April. However, hasn't been in anything like the same form either start since.
Harbour Vision
Veteran campaigner who landed back-to-back Wolverhampton handicaps over this trip earlier this year but out of sorts more recently.
Yehudi (IRE)
Steadily eased in weights this year and crucially channelled his energy more efficiently when belatedly shedding maiden tag at Kempton (7f) 4 weeks ago, pulling a little way clear with runner-up. 4 lb rise should see him competitive again.
Split Elevens
Three-time C&D winner who hadn't been seen to best effect in recent months but found things panning out smoothly when opening his account for the year at Wolverhampton (7f) 4 weeks ago. Yard continue in good form and he can be competitive again from handy draw.
Secret Road (IRE)
Made winning debut for this yard over 1m at this course in March and backed that up with respectable fourth here later in the month. However, lines up here having been soundly beaten here 3 days ago.
Francisco
Well served by run of the race when resuming winning ways over C&D on penultimate start. May have found conditions softer than ideal when sixth on turf here (7f) 16 days ago and he's certainly not ruled out for each-way purposes.
Fort Augustus
4-y-o who comes here having made it 2 wins from his last 3 starts, getting first run when edging out reopposing Adelaide Bay by ½ length at Southwell (7f) 2 weeks ago. Now his task is to achieve some consistency and this looks a deeper race.
Dashing Donkey
Won twice at Newmarket's July Course last summer. Creditable fifth at Southwell in March but down the field having raced closer to the pace than ideal at Yarmouth last time. Now back on last winning mark.
Oberon Hill (IRE)
Consistent rather than progressive for Jedd O'Keeffe during first half of 2025 but probably in need of first run for 11 months when last of 7 on stable debut at Kempton (6f) in March. Betting can likely prove a useful guide.
Adelaide Bay
Three-time winner all-weather winner who was gambled on re-united with this yard and really should have won when just held by reopposing Fort Augustus at Southwell (7f) 2 weeks ago, left with too much to do. Evidently back down to a handy mark and big shout despite tricky draw.
Twitch (NZ)
Dual 7f winner in 2024 who has drawn a blank since but encouraging signs of late, faring best of the pacesetters when fifth of 10 in handicap here (7f, good to soft, 9/1) 16 days ago. Another holding each-way claims back on all-weather.
