Timeform View

GLOBAL SKIES hails from a stable in form and marked himself down as one to be interested in this summer when finishing a good second over C&D 3 weeks ago. Well clear of the remainder then, he shades preference over Coded Welder who also found only one too good himself at Cork 4 weeks ago. Churchwarden back over hurdles is another to note.

Timeform Comments

Churchwarden (IRE)
Hurdles winner for John McConnell in 2024 who joined new yard for 4,200 gns and ran to a modest level after 7 months off when tenth of 14 in handicap at Roscommon (1½m, good) 25 days ago. Returns to timber with stable going well so foolish to rule out a better showing.
Ned In The Park (IRE)
Course winner from 4 lb lower in April who matched that form when runner up over C&D last month. Found little when ninth of 15 in handicap at Ballinrobe (2m) since but bounce rates a possibility.
Coded Welder (IRE)
Shaped with promise in maidens last summer for P. Mulligan and step forward after 4 months off when second on stable debut in a Cork handicap (19f) 4 weeks ago. Almost certainly one of the likelier types with a repeat.
The Monkey Pole (IRE)
Fair form when runner-up in maidens on first 2 hurdle starts last summer. However, hasn't been able to replicate those efforts upon returning this spring, tailed off on handicap debut at Tramore (2m) 7 days ago. Steps back up in trip now.
In For The Night (IRE)
Dual winner during 2024/25 but finished well all 4 starts during last season. Hopes pinned on a stable switch/7-month break having positive effect.
Portarlington (IRE)
Back on the scoresheet at Downpatrick (2¾m) in July but not in anything like the same form subsequently, still in rear when taking a heavy fall at Ballinrobe 10 days ago. Others make greater appeal.
Inthenickoftime (IRE)
Consistent on the whole and impressive when resuming winning ways over fences at Galway in October. Good second over hurdles next time and clearly not himself when pulled up back over larger obstacles at Thurles in December. Lower mark in this sphere and he appeals as a likely bounce back candidate.
Mister Vic (IRE)
Decisive winner at Ballinrobe for Noel Kelly last summer. Lightly raced since, at long odds and offering little starting out for new yard/after 9 months off when well held at Kilbeggan 3 weeks ago.
Boujee (IRE)
Bumper winner who posted best effort over hurdles when third in mares maiden over further at Ballinrobe in August. Absent since finishing well held back at that venue a month later and market best guide on handicap bow.
Le Diablo (FR)
Career best when off the mark at second attempt in handicaps over 17f here in April. However, seemed stretched by step back up in trip next time and he ran poorly at Kilbeggan (2m) 5 days ago. Needs to bounce back turned out quickly.
Takarengo (IRE)
On a losing run dating back to September 2021 and he again raced too freely when well-beaten fifth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (2½m, soft) 8 days ago.
Global Skies
Fairly useful on Flat (stays 1¼m) and going in a refitted hood, he posted easily his best effort to date over hurdles when second in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago, That marks him out as one to be interested in at this level.
Penny Jar (IRE)
Veteran who hasn't tasted success since late 2022 and having disappointed in handful of starts last year, showed nothing when pulled up on last month's Bellewstown reappearance.
Speakasyoufind (IRE)
Maiden who offered little on chase debut in January and always behind returned to hurdling in first-time cheekpieces over C&D 3 weeks ago. Headgear retained but tough to assess at present.
Stumblin In (IRE)
Winner over an extended 21f at Tramore last spring but proved more miss than hit thereafter in 2025. Feasible to think her return from 8 months off was needed back at Tramore in April and return to further ought to be in her favour here.
Hidalgo Des Mottes (FR)
Remains a maiden despite plenty of creditable placed efforts. Good claims on Thurles (2m) second in November although he virtually refused to race on the level 24 days ago.
Stonecarthy (IRE)
Modest maiden at best for Kieran Purcell who was always behind after 7 months off on yard debut at Downpatrick 4 weeks ago. Cheekpieces now reached for. RESERVE.
