SIMPLE STAR didn't run too badly over hurdles at Kelso last time and could be the way to go down in grade back on the level. Cascade Hall has returned in fine form and looks set for another good run, while Elemental Eye is also in with a shout.

Timeform Comments

Velvet Whisper (IRE)
Improved when winning in the mud at Nottingham (1¼m) and this track (12.5f) on final 2 starts last year. Hasn't returned in top form and jury out over whether she can prove fully effective away from a soft surface. Has first go over 2m.
Kisiyra (IRE)
Lost her way for Johnny Murtagh but after 8 months off there were better signs on stable debut when 1¾ lengths fourth of 6 in handicap at Thirsk last summer (well positioned). Absent again since and steps up in trip with first-time tongue tie applied. Engaged 4.51 Hamilton Thursday.
Simple Star (IRE)
A 3-time course winner who has returned in better heart than recent cross-code form figures might suggest. Drops in grade back on the level (tongue tie back on) and of interest with Danny Tudhope up.
Spit Spot
Won a couple of 3m handicap hurdles at Perth last season but lost her action when pulled up in that sphere in April and was well beaten following a breathing operation on belated Flat return here a fortnight ago. Has a bit to prove.
Elemental Eye
Won at Redcar (2m) and this track last summer. Shaped as if better for the run after 11 weeks off at Ripon 19 days ago and should be closer to form back at this venue having been dropped another 2 lb.
Cascade Hall (IRE)
Has returned in good form under this rider, beating a subsequent winner by 10 lengths in 4-runner 15f Ayr handicap then edged out by an unexposed stable-switcher at Carlisle (1¾m, soft, 5/2) 18 days ago. Longer trip/3 lb rise shouldn't be an issue and big shout in current mood.
Star Of Markinch (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who has run up to her best here the last twice but will do well to open her account in this grade.
