Timeform View

Michael Dods could hold sway here with his in-form mare TAYGAR taken to gain a deserved victory at the chief expense of stablemate Imperial Guard who is fancied to strip fitter for his reappearance Carlisle eighth. Fan Mail and Annie Edson Taylor also need factoring into this open-looking sprint.

Timeform Comments

Imperial Guard (IRE)
It's now seventeen runs since his last win in 2024 but he shaped as if the run was needed when eighth of 10 in handicap at Carlisle (5f) 18 days ago. Visor is reached for now and handily weighted if it works the oracle.
Taygar (IRE)
Scored at Ayr (6f) last July and right back on track of late, runner-up for the second consecutive start in 11-runner handicap at Redcar (6f) 18 days ago. Remains 5 lb below her last winning mark so she's a player.
Sherlock (IRE)
Gained a breakthrough win at Newcastle in February and largely in good form since, fourth of 10 in handicap at Beverley (5f) last month. Not out of things.
Woodhay Whisper (IRE)
Back to winning ways at Wolverhampton in February but largely below par since, soon off the bridle when ninth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) on her final run for Jack Jones in March. More needed for her new handler after a break.
Annie Edson Taylor
Scored for current yard at Hamilton (6f) in September. Has shaped better than her finishing position suggests on both runs this season, not ideally placed when sixth of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 17 days ago. One to consider off a 2 lb lower mark.
Fan Mail
Successful at Southwell (6f) in October. Cheekpieces fitted and placed for the first time since when runner-up in 12-runner handicap at Carlisle (6f) 18 days ago, just failing. Well in the mix with blinkers tried now.
Elvetham (IRE)
Won twice over 6f this spring on the all-weather and finished a solid third of 14 back on turf at Windsor (6f) 13 days ago. Ought to be thereabouts once more.
Bibendum
Ended 2025 in very good form (won at Newcastle) but yet to hit top form in 3 runs in 2026, just fifth of 7 in 6f handicap there in February. Needs to bounce back after a break.
Teddy Shaw
Has twice failed to build on his debut Newcastle seventh, only tenth of 11 in maiden there (6f) 78 days ago. Makes handicap debut with lots more needed.
Kitaab
Twelve runs since his last win in 2024 and only eighth of 16 in handicap at Doncaster (7f) 20 days ago. Others appeal more.
East Tyrone (IRE)
Won classified event at Wolverhampton in January and largely in good nick since, not seen to best effect from a wide draw when ninth of 11 in handicap at Catterick (7f) 15 days ago. Not ruled out.
