Timeform View

A good beginners chase for the time of year, with Willie Mullins holding a strong hand and his superbly-bred VICAR STREET getting the vote to make a successful start in this sphere. Stablemate Fillyoureye needs to settle down but could do well over the larger obstacles, as could Quantum Quest. Da Capo Glory is yet to match his useful hurdles form over fences and looks vulnerable in this company.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

This could develop into a sprint for home, and Quantum Quest could be well placed to capitalise: Of the better-fancied horses, Da Capo Glory is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Da Capo Glory (IRE)
Very useful hurdler at his best who was eighth in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham but continues below that level over fences, no match for all-the-way winner on fourth try in this sphere at Killarney 4 weeks ago. Promising conditional up but probably vulnerable for the win again.
Fillyoureye (IRE)
Won 23f Punchestown maiden hurdle in February. Has proven too free in good handicaps since but is the type to make a chaser and no surprise to see him hit the ground running in this sphere.
Game On
Progressive over hurdles, well backed when off the mark at Downpatrick (2¾m) 12 months ago. Has made a low-key start over fences, running a rather flat race back from a year off at Limerick recently.
Kainsbourg (FR)
Fairly useful hurdler, successful twice early last season at up to 2½m and also second in the Grade 2 Persian War at Chepstow. Shaped as if amiss when last seen in November and has stamina for 3m to prove on chase debut.
Mister Frostie (IRE)
Winning pointer but has lost his way under Rules (including over fences).
Quantum Quest (IRE)
Fairly useful staying hurdler, successful twice last season when also second in Grade 3 novice at Cork. Well held in valuable Aintree handicap in April but can make his presence felt now chasing.
Vicar Street (IRE)
Made a successful start over hurdles in 2½m Roscommon maiden last July before a good second to the subsequent Persian War winner/County Hurdle runner-up in listed event at Galway. Not seen since but the type to do well over fences (classy dam was 6-6 in this sphere) and clearly goes well fresh.
Wendrock (FR)
Useful hurdler at up to 2½m, patchy form last season. No reason why he can't prove just as good over fences but this trip might stretch him.
