Timeform View

EASTER BONNET created a good impression when winning her bumper on debut and, though clearly not right when last seen, appeals as the type to go on to better things and is taken to make a winning start over hurdles. Cailin Deas and Rosie’s Wings remain capable of better in this sphere and rate the main dangers, ahead of standard-setter Firebrand.

Timeform Comments

Ferrybank
Fair performer up to 1m on Flat and remains to be seen whether he's got the required stamina to make it as a hurdler.
Firebrand (GER)
Placed 4 times from 6 starts over hurdles last season, running up to best when 5½ lengths second of 16 in amateur maiden at Thurles in November. Sets the standard on return from 6-month break, but likely to prove vulnerable to improvers. Usual Tongue tie left off.
Ludus Magnus (FR)
Didn't show a great deal in a trio of bumpers but shaped with more encouragement when 17¼ lengths fourth of 15 to Hey Now in conditional maiden at Sligo on hurdling debut 25 days ago. Likely to improve but it may be once qualified for handicaps.
Rosie's Wings (IRE)
Stepped up on previous bumper/hurdling efforts for Lorna Fowler when length third of 14 in maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan last month, faring best of those held up. Hinted at temperament in bumpers but open to further improvement in this sphere.
The Weighbridge (IRE)
Capri gelding. Half-brother to Monbeg Stream. Finished runner-up on the second of 2 starts in points and was out of his depth when seventh of 8 to Daddy Long Legs in minor event on hurdling debut and this promises to reveal more.
Evangelic (IRE)
Regressive on the Flat and signs of temperament when well beaten in maiden hurdles at Downpatrick and Ballinrobe
Finns First (IRE)
One for the longer term based on his 2 outings this spring.
Lucky Signal (FR)
Attracted support but showed only greenness in a Leopardstown bumper on debut/sole outing for Eoin Griffin in March and looked likely to finish last of 13 when slipping up in similar event at Killarney on debut for this yard last month. Significant improvement needed now hurdling.
Matcho D'agrostis (FR)
Well beaten when falling late on both starts in maiden hurdles.
Superficial (FR)
No better than mid-field in a pair of maiden hurdles last season. Has improved on the Flat since last seen in this sphere, winning a handicap at Roscommon last month, beating a next-time-out winner. Clearly capable of better as a hurdler, but it will likely be once qualified for handicaps.
Bethpage Theatre (IRE)
Well held on completed start in maiden hurdles and makes no appeal.
Cailin Deas (IRE)
Fair bumper winner for James Andrew Fahey who stepped up on previous hurdling efforts when 8½ lengths third of 15 in a 19f maiden at Downpatrick on debut for this yard last month, shaping as if this return to 2m would suit. Open to further progress with a hood now added.
Drumadeise (IRE)
Shaped as if badly in need of the experience in maiden hurdle at Limerick on debut recently and is very much one for the longer term.
Easter Bonnet (FR)
Made an impressive winning debut in 7-runner bumper at this course in October before shaping as if amiss in listed mares event the following month. Not seen since but very much bred to make a hurdler and looks to have been found a winnable opportunity first time up over hurdles.
Glendaars Crystal (IRE)
Looked one for the longer term when never better than mid-field in maiden hurdle at this course last month,
Hardlee Trouble (IRE)
Bred for longer trips and went with no short-term encouragement when well beaten in a 2½m maiden hurdle at Sligo 25 days ago.
Inver Bay (IRE)
Offered little in a trio of bumpers and a maiden hurdle for Gerard Keane last season and it was a similar story in 3 Flat starts. Hard to fancy starting out for new yard after 6 months off in a refitted hood.
Jukebox Jolene (IRE)
Is bred to stay well and shaped in kind when seventh of 15 in maiden hurdle at Down Royal on debut. Will need time, distance and presumably handicaps before becoming of interest.
My Poetic Queen (IRE)
Poet's Word mare. Half-sister to modest hurdler Letters To Juliet, stays 2½m, and fairly useful hurdler Cotteemcavennigoal.
Pixie Hill (IRE)
Was pulled up sole start in points and was never involved when tailed off in a mares maiden at Limerick on hurdling debut 9 days ago.
Shing Shilla (IRE)
Poor maiden handicap hurdler who shaped as if amiss when last seen in October. Of little interest in this company.
Urinmydreams (IRE)
Yet to show any ability after 3 outings, including in maiden hurdles the last twice.
Spellitoutforme (IRE)
Bred to stay well and shaped better than the distance beaten suggests when well-held fifth of 8 in maiden at this course in May, travelling well long way. Likely has handicaps on the agenda.
