It's hard to get away from recent course winner FINE POINT, who still looks a well-handicapped horse for his emerging new yard and should hopefully get the longer trip under a patient Patrick Mullins ride. Ushuaia Dancer could go close if reproducing his Newcastle form on second start back from a significant absence.

Timeform Comments

Fine Point (IRE)
Comfortable, well-backed winner of a 2m handicap on only his third start for capable new stable here last month. Manner of that performance makes him very interesting in his bid to follow up, especially with Patrick Mullins booked, however he's not a guaranteed stayer over this longer trip.
Byron Hill (IRE)
Sole hurdles success came at Carlisle in October 2024 but has been running creditably this year, doing all he could back over a more suitable trip when third of 11 at Sedgefield in early-April.
Cuillin Ridge
Improved to open his account in convincing style at Huntingdon (25f, soft) on final start for Henry Daly in early-March. Since purchased for £12,500 by new yard, and while his handicap form looks solid, he's not an obvious sort to benefit from a drop in trip.
Rickety Gate
Veteran who added to a creditable record fresh when fourth at Carlisle (19f) on seasonal return, however he's finished well held both starts subsequently, and is partnered by an inexperienced amateur.
Ushuaia Dancer
Low-mileage 8-y-o who shaped as if retaining all his ability when chasing home a Skelton-trained gamble on first start for nearly 2 years at Newcastle in late-March. That reads fairly well now and he's entitled to go close if reproducing that form.
C'mon So (IRE)
Hinted at ability in a bumper before finishing well held in 3 quickfire runs over hurdles in the spring, and while his opening mark hardly looks a generous one, he should at least benefit from the switch to a handicap/return to a longer trip.
Follow The Leader (IRE)
Achieved nothing at long odds in maiden hurdles in 2024/25. Up in trip with first-time tongue strap fitted for handicap debut but hard to have any degree of confidence following a 16-month absence.
My My My Delilah
Fair bumper performer whose standout effort over hurdles came when fourth in a race run to suit here (2m), but she's finished well held on both subsequent starts and has stamina to prove back up in trip.
Malangen (IRE)
Veteran course winner who would have benefitted from a more forceful ride when 6¼ lengths third to Fine Point over 2m at this course last time, but he's back in form and won't be inconvenienced by the step back up in distance.
Road To Rosley
Poor maiden fared no better over a longer trip in a Cartmel maiden (22f) last time.
