Timeform View

MODERN TIMES has been shaping up well in slightly better handicaps than this and from a career-low mark, he looks the way to go. Zubaru arrives in top form so has to be feared, while this sharp 7f should suit Black Storm.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Black Storm traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts: Society Man traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Zubaru
Ready winner at Doncaster last month and overcame a 9 lb rise at Leicester the following week. Excellent second at Yarmouth since so he's clearly in top form.
Royalty Bay (IRE)
Third at Doncaster last July on her final outing for John & Sean Quinn. No better than respectable efforts across 4 starts for current yard, albeit race wasn't run to suit on reappearance over C&D in April.
Society Man (FR)
Kempton winner from 5 lb higher in October. Yet to find top gear in 2026, making little impression back on turf, albeit left poorly placed.
Wreck It Ryley (IRE)
Landed a big gamble on second start back at Leicester in April. Not seen to best effect next 2 starts and back on his game when third at Doncaster 3 weeks ago.
Mae Amor (IRE)
Dual handicap winner in 2025 for David O'Meara but ended the year on a low-key note for current yard. However, after 5 months off she bounced back to best when causing a 66/1 surprise at Hamilton. Never looked like defying a penalty at York and now back at 7f.
Abduction (FR)
Building a good record for this rider as he resumed winning ways back on turf over C&D in April. Never really a win factor both starts since, 1¾ lengths seventh of 13 to Mae Amor in handicap at Hamilton 3 weeks ago (6f). Return to this trip is in his favour.
Modern Times
Landed the odds in a Ripon maiden a year ago on just his second start for new stable. Shaped well when fifth of 16 in a handicap there on reappearance and in better heart than recent runs suggest.
Black Storm (IRE)
Twelve runs since last win in 2024 but shaped better than bare result second start back from a breathing operation when fourth of 10 in handicap at Carlisle (7f, soft) 19 days ago, doing too much too soon.
Yaaser (IRE)
Barely beaten a rival in 5 starts since his latest success at Newcastle (7f) in December.
