LA BRODEUSE left her French form trailing in her wake when an excellent ¾-length second of 7 to Royal Velvet in the Chartwell Stakes at Lingfield starting out for Kevin Ryan last month and she's just about the one to beat on that evidence. Stablemate Magic Basma may offer most resistance, though Havana Pusey is well established at this level.

Timeform Comments

Beaujolais Nouveau
Ended 2025 out of sorts and quiet return to action but sparked into life by cheekpieces when winning 9-runner handicap at Ripon 3 weeks ago. Way she stuck to that suggests return to 7f will suit but more needed on these terms.
Brazilian Rose (IRE)
Back on track in no uncertain terms in 2026, winning 4 handicaps at up to 7f. Another excellent effort when third in a deeper race at Newcastle in April but she looks up against on these terms on first turf start since August.
Circe (IRE)
Triple winner of 6f handicaps around this time last year and reached the frame in listed/Group 3 company at up to 7f in the autumn. Lacks a recent run but yard going great guns ahead of reappearance and she's a player on form.
Havana Pusey
Left her reappearance effort well behind when taking 7-runner handicap at Yarmouth (7f) in April. Matched that form when 1¾ lengths third of 7 to Royal Velvet in Chartwell Stakes at Lingfield 28 days ago, running on. That puts her right in the mix.
La Brodeuse
Fairly useful filly in France for Andre Fabre, albeit failed to make a significant impact in 2 listed outings. Transferred from one very powerful yard to another and much improved when ¾-length second of 7 to Royal Velvet in Chartwell Stakes at Lingfield (7f) 4 weeks ago. Repeat of that may suffice.
Magic Basma (IRE)
Useful filly who reached the frame at listed level for a fifth time when length second of 15 to Rosy Affair in listed race at Haydock (6f, good to soft) 15 days ago, running on. Return to 7f shouldn't inconvenience and she can make her presence felt.
Figjam (IRE)
Fourth in Ayr Group 3 (6f, soft) and second in Doncaster listed race (6f, heavy) either side of a novice win over that trip last autumn. Showed she's trained on when 3½ lengths seventh in Fred Darling but just a respectable 5¼ lengths fourth of 15 to Rosy Affair in listed race at Haydock latest.
Golden Palace
Successful in novices at Beverley and York on first 2 starts but found things tougher campaigned at a higher level the remainder of the season. Respectable 5½ lengths seventh of 12 to Azleet in Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket (7f, good) on reappearance in April. Difficult ask.
