Timeform View

A dual all-weather novice winner at 3 yrs, ROSE OF HONOUR picked up where she left off despite her relative inexperience when making a successful handicap debut over 6f here 5 weeks ago. A 3 lb rise looks fair and she rates a big player on her first try at 5f in her bid to make it 4-4. Toca Madera isn't long with David O'Meara and also commands a look, with last year's winner Baldomero, Naana's Sparkle and Squealer complete the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Rose Of Honour (IRE)
Night of Thunder filly who impressed when landing back-to-back 6f AW novice events last summer and made light of her relative inexperience after 7 months off when scoring on handicap debut here (6f) 5 weeks ago. 3 lb rise looks fair and of strong interest again in bid to make it 4-4.
Naana's Sparkle
Won twice last summer and, having been a springer in the market ahead of return/stable debut, he found some improvement when edging a tight finish at Yarmouth (5f) 24 days ago. Hasn't got all that many miles on the clock and he ought to remain competitive.
Elegant Erin (IRE)
Dual 5f winner at Beverley in September who never figured on first 2 starts this year but shaped better than distance beaten suggests at York 2 weeks ago, denied a run at a crucial stage but moving through the race as if back in form. Eased further in the weights and not dismissed.
Paddy's Day (IRE)
Had an excellent 2025, winning 6 times including Gosforth Park Cup at Newcastle and ended year with success over same C&D in December. Largely run with credit on all-weather in recent months and he lines up here back on last winning mark. Tongue tie retained.
Baldomero (IRE)
Game when taking this race (by a neck) from Squealer 12 months ago and registered 3 more victories on all-weather thereafter, latterly at Lingfield (5f) on New Year's Eve. Far from disgraced when midfield in good Newmarket handicap in April and possibilities with visor replacing cheekpieces.
Toca Madera (IRE)
Edged down weights during a winless 2025 for Brian Meehan. Joined a yard that do well with new recruits and posted easily his most encouraging effort despite racing away from main action when third in class 2 handicap at York (5f) 2 weeks ago. Nudged back up 2 lb but one to bear in mind again.
Master Of My Fate (IRE)
Twice successful on the all-weather this year but didn't settle all that well faced with what was a stiff enough task when down the field at York (5f) on most recent start 2 weeks ago. Remains 2 lb above last winning mark.
Counsel
Returned to form with a narrow victory at Wolverhampton (5f) and dispelled a lesser effort next time, when seventh of 17 at Thirsk (5f) 3 weeks ago. However, still to get his head in front on turf and others rate more persuasive on this occasion.
Blinky (IRE)
Ended 2025 in good order but yet to fire in trio of starts on all-weather/turf so far this year. Feasible to think he'll sharpen up for last month's York run but others appear much more convincing at present.
Squealer (IRE)
C&D winner who chased home Baldomero in this race 12 months ago before going one better at York (5f). Caught the eye on reappearance at Beverley in April but compromised his chances with slow starts on each of his 2 subsequent outings. Handicapper certainly given him a chance, though.
Intervention
Recorded 4 wins in 2025, including the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon. Yet to score this year and having ran well on rare outing over this trip at Nottingham in April, he's underperformed both starts since. Again goes without any headgear and he remains best watched at present.
