Timeform View

Several make appeal, most of all BLUE PRINCE who has a fine course record and is fancied to capitalise on a very tempting mark. Serenity Dream finished ahead of 3 subsequent winners at Ascot last time and should go close, while Wobwobwob looks interesting with headgear on for the first time this season.

Timeform Comments

Dr Strangelove
Won twice over 6f last year, latterly in a fairly useful handicap at Salisbury, and he shaped as though ready for this step back up in trip when third behind a well-treated pair in a higher grade here last time.
Rare Change (IRE)
Form tailed off following 3 victories early last season, and while his reappearance third on the all-weather was a step back in the right direction, cheekpieces are refitted here following his subsequent lacklustre display at Chester.
Diamondonthehill
One of the most consistent handicappers around, he wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up in a useful handicap at Musselburgh last time, though is now 16 starts without a win.
Blue Prince (IRE)
C&D winner hasn't won for a while but shaped encouragingly when third of 14 at Kempton on return from 7 months off, doing by far the best of those held up, and he looks potentially thrown-in on his form from last season.
Wobwobwob (IRE)
Hasn't won since 2024 but that's reflected in his mark. Likely needed his 2 runs this season (usual headgear left off), and having run well on both previous starts at this track, he looks interesting with a visor back on.
Cherry Cobbler
Showed himself equally effective on turf at the second attempt when exploiting a career-low mark in a 7f Newmarket handicap last time but could be vulnerable off 8 lb higher in a better race.
Tronido
Comfortably justified support when capitalising on a drop in class at Lingfield on her latest start but will need to win for the first time in this grade if she's to land a third career double.
Dannick
Third on his sole previous start here as a juvenile but having shaped well in 7f handicaps last summer, he hasn't offered much in 2 starts following a breathing operation. At least warrants a check in the betting, though.
Serenity Dream (IRE)
Course winner who quickly got back on track when fifth of 18 in a fairly useful sprint handicap at Ascot last time. That form is working out well, and with the step back up in trip unlikely to inconvenience him, a big run is expected.
