CLOCKER is bred to do better now handicapping up in trip and could be the way to go. Hatamoto, Ephron and Lightening Lad are a trio of others to consider.

Timeform Comments

Scheffler (IRE)
Failed to go on from a promising debut third at Lingfield for Richard Hughes and now makes handicap/turf debut up in trip for new yard in a change of headgear. Improvement needed off his mark.
Unchartedterritory (IRE)
Fair run behind a couple of superior rivals in 1¼m Nottingham handicap last week. Well bred and could yet fulfil his potential if settling down.
Lightening Lad
Again attracted support on his return at Catterick (7f) last month but once more ran below his debut form. Steps up in trip now handicapping and remains with potential.
Ibn Altheeb (IRE)
Won at Wolverhampton in October but has finished well held in 2 runs for new yard this year and needs a change of headgear to spark him back into action.
Ephron (IRE)
Made successful handicap debut in 1m Redcar contest on return in April. Didn't seem to get home upped to 1¼m in tougher handicap at Haydock next time, not looking the easiest under pressure. This interim trip may suit him better and he can get back on track.
Cosmic Man (IRE)
Has made an underwhelming start in handicaps this season despite attracting support. Dropped another 3 lb and now steps up in distance returning to the scene of his best run last year.
Espanita (IRE)
Landed 7f Wolverhampton maiden in March. Found run of good form coming to an end on turf debut at Nottingham (8.3f) 3 weeks ago despite settling better. Upped further in trip now.
Mr Moonshine (IRE)
Best effort at 2 yrs when going close on handicap debut at Thirsk (1m), just hitting top gear a bit too late. Gelded since last seen and could find a race this season.
Clocker
Modest form in a trio of starts so far, making the frame for the first time when fourth of 12 in 1m maiden at Newcastle on return 7 weeks ago. However, she's bred for longer trips and appeals as the type to take a step forward as she heads into handicaps.
Balmoral Boy (IRE)
Settled better but again finished well held on his handicap debut at Doncaster (1m) last month and needs to improve.
Attention Seeker (IRE)
Having tumbled in the weights got back on track tried over a longer distance when fourth of 9 at Beverley (1¼m, good) last month. Not straightforward and needs to back that up.
Hatamoto
Has made a solid start in handicaps, well backed when runner-up to a subsequent winner over 1m here and staying on for third at Leicester (7f). This longer trip should suit and he's one to consider.
