Timeform View

Although a wide stall has the potential to make life a bit harder. 3-time course winner SILCA BAY holds obvious claims off the same mark as when scoring at Goodwood last week. Lady Manzor is largely consistent and heads the dangers along with Billy Mill and Criminal. Celestias Comet would also enter calculations if showing up after/instead of Brighton on Tuesday.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Billy Mill has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Silca Bay
Three course wins in the second half of last year and got his head back in front in 1m Goodwood apprentice handicap last Friday. Escapes a penalty and ought to take a bit of stopping assuming stall 13 isn't too troublesome.
Freddie's Star (IRE)
Placed on first 3 starts before landing short odds in 5-runner novice at Chelmsford (7f) in November. Hasn't cut much ice in 3 handicaps since, though. First-time cheekpieces need to make a difference. NON RUNNER.
Lady Manzor
Won 3 times on polytrack at the beginning of 2025, including here. Drawn a blank since but most of her efforts have been creditable, including fourth of 12 over C&D 3 weeks ago, not ideally placed. Enters calculations.
Island Hero (IRE)
Gelded but looked far from straightforward on handicap debut when ninth of 13 on handicap debut at Sandown (1m, soft) last August. Not seen since and returns with a bit to prove. Wears a first-time hood.
American State (IRE)
Successful around 1m at Wolverhampton and Southwell this year. Has finished down the field on his last 2 outings but there was an excuse last time (met trouble).
I Am Me (IRE)
Capitalised on the drop in grade in 12-runner handicap over C&D in February, staying on to lead line. Remains lightly raced for current yard and should have a part to play if returning from a 105-day break in similar form.
Bold Suitor
Three-time scorer last year (including C&D) who got his head back in front in 9-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) 6 weeks ago, edging out the reopposing Havana Touch. Should remain competitive off 2 lb higher.
Celestias Comet (IRE)
Landed the odds in 1m Southwell novice last autumn. Shaped better than the bare result back on turf when fifth at Lingfield 3 weeks ago, paying for quite a big move to challenge in a soundly-run race. Well worth a second look eased another 3 lb and back down in trip. Engaged 7.21 Brighton Tuesday.
Criminal
Still a maiden but he went close on all-weather at Lingfield (1¼m) in April and showed enough to think he's still in form when 2 lengths last of 4 at Bath (1¼m) last month. Drops back in trip now with William Buick taking the ride. Enters calculations.
Billy Mill
C&D winner and arrives on the back of 3 successive placed efforts over C&D, going down by only a neck last time. Another who has to enter the reckoning.
Hour By Hour
Four-time 6f winner for Iain Jardine but ended his time with that yard out of sorts and pulled too hard when stepped up in trip for his C&D yard debut 3 weeks ago, weakening to finish last of 12. Can only watch after that.
Havana Touch
Resumed winning ways over C&D in April. Backed it up with a close second to Bold Suitor at Lingfield and not disgraced on a rare turf outing last week.
Just Typical
Landed 5 wins in a highly productive 2025. Given a break since a slightly below-par fifth of 11 at Newcastle (1m) in January. Can start slowly. Might be best watched this time.
My Boy Harry
Benefited from the return to 7f when taking advantage of a reduced mark in clear-cut style at Lingfield (good to soft) last month. Respectable third of 7 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good, 5/2) 12 days ago, nearest finish. Blinkers back on.
