Timeform View

Preference is for RETURN TO UNIT, who had been progressive last year and can leave behind a below-par effort on recent handicap debut with blinkers now fitted. He gets the vote ahead of One Night Thunder, who shaped encouragingly on his second start back this season, with Wondrous Light also in the mix.

Timeform Comments

Miletus (IRE)
Went close to landing a gamble on stable debut at Lingfield in February and shaped best when again finding one too strong at Doncaster the following month. Left poorly placed at Yarmouth since and he's capable from his current mark if quirks are kept in check.
One Night Thunder
Recorded back-to-back 7f wins at Carlisle in September and stepped forward from reappearance run when third of 10 at Haydock last month. Merits consideration with more still to offer back up in trip.
San Juanito
Won twice at Wolverhampton last spring for Simon & Ed Crisford. Struggled for form subsequently on turf, but fared better on yard debut when seventh of 11 at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in December. Needs to prove himself on this surface after 6 months off.
Return To Unit
900,000 gns yearling from a very good family who opened account at third attempt over this C&D (good to soft) in October. Disappointed on handicap/seasonal debut at Ayr (good to firm) 22 days ago, but he's well worth another chance with blinkers added.
Triple Double A (IRE)
Completed a hat-trick around 1m in first half of 2025. Resumed winning ways upped to 1¼m at Newcastle in February and has run respectably since, facing a stiff task when mid-field in class 2 at Chester last month. Drop back in grade should help returned to 1m.
On The River
Showed benefit of reappearance run when only narrowly denied at Ripon in April. Wasn't in the same form at Pontefract 6 weeks ago, but he's now back down to below his last winning mark.
Youarenotforgiven
Has shown that he's still capable of fairly useful form this year, completing an all-weather hat-trick with success at Wolverhampton in April. However, back up in the weights he finished well held over this C&D last month.
Wondrous Light
Has taken her form up a notch this year, making it 2 wins from 3 starts when readily landing 12-runner contest over this C&D 23 days ago. Up in grade but she's not taken lightly in her current mood.
Swift Salian (IRE)
Back-to-back winner around this time last year and has proved as good as ever this season with 2 runner-up finishes, bumping into an improver in 13-runner contest at Musselburgh on latest outing.
