Timeform View

The forecast rain may tip the balance in favour of WILD CLARY and he's taken to record a deserved first handicap success. Kiniro looks on a handy mark for new connections but is likely to face softer conditions than previously faced, while there are no ground concerns for Pressure's On, who is also weighted to go well in a competitive event.

Timeform Comments

Never Just A Dream (IRE)
Four-time all-weather winner who arrives with something to prove on a rare turf start, having struggled to stand much racing for Alice Haynes last season, though he does at least have Tom Marquand taking over on stable debut.
Justcallmepete
C&D winner who defied a rise in class to make it 2 wins from his previous 3 starts in a competitive event at Windsor last time, travelling with plenty of zest, and he should remain competitive off 3 lb higher.
Moving Force (IRE)
Missed the whole of last season but bounced back to his best when going close at 50/1 on second start for new yard at Kempton last time. Booking of Billy Loughnane can only be viewed as a positive, however, soft ground remains an unknown.
Wild Clary (IRE)
Sole win came in 6f Southwell maiden last summer but he underlined a very solid handicap record when third of 14 at Carlisle last time and is expected to make a bold bid with sights slightly lowered.
Righthere Rightnow (FR)
Debut winner of a Newmarket maiden whose form went the wrong way in Meydan over the winter, however, he's ground versatile (fifth in the Silver Cup on soft last season) and isn't ruled out if back on song.
Golden Long (AUS)
Hong Kong recruit who built on the promise of his stable debut at the second attempt when successful at Windsor (6f, good) last time, and while he remains on a fair mark, softer conditions are an unknown.
Kiniro
Notched a second career all-weather success on final start for Harry Charlton at Lingfield last October and has shaped better than the form figures would imply in 2 starts for new stable. Looks interesting with Oisin Murphy back aboard, though is yet to race on ground worse than good.
Pressure's On (FR)
Ground-versatile sort whose 3 career victories have come at 7f. Didn't see out his race when fifth of 8 at Newcastle on his latest start, but the drop back in distance shouldn't be an inconvenience given the likely conditions, and he's worth another chance.
Hockney
Low-mileage 4-y-o who has won each of his 3 starts over 6f when making the running, latterly when gamely seeing off Moving Force at Kempton, and he cannot be discounted if allowed his own way in front.
