TARRANT has made an encouraging start to her career, pulling clear of the remainder when third at Ascot last time, and she can build on her first 2 efforts to get off the mark. Shady Dame remains with potential this year and could be the main danger, while Miss Scott helps to give John & Thady Gosden a strong hand in the race.

Timeform Comments

Miss Scott (IRE)
650,000 gns daughter of Night of Thunder who looked a good prospect when winning 12-runner maiden at Leicester (7f) in September on debut, well on top at the finish. Absent since but she enters calculations with improvement to come. Hood applied.
Aunt Roberta (IRE)
€85,000 yearling, Sea The Stars filly. Sister to 3 winners, including very smart 6f-1¼m winner Fifty Stars and 1¼m winner Seek And Destroy and closely related to 1¼m winner Switchel. Makes appeal on paper.
Hatta Romance (IRE)
22,000 gns 2-y-o, Frankel filly. Dam 2-y-o 7f/1m winner, including May Hill Stakes and second in Fillies' Mile. Yard not known for its winning newcomers.
Manaar (IRE)
175,000 gns foal, 370,000 gns yearling, St Mark's Basilica filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including high-class winner up to 1½m Dubai Honour and useful 11.4f-17f winner Manxman. Dam unraced. Noteworthy newcomer for much-respected connections.
Mountain Of Light
Bred to be useful but was very much in need of the experience on debut when seventh of 8 in novice at Haydock (1m) in April, very slowly away. Entitled to do better, but has work to do in this contest.
Pierpoint (IRE)
Never a threat in newcomers race here (7f) in April. Shaped better upped to 1¼m when fourth of 7 in maiden at Ascot last month (stablemate Tarrant ahead in third), but may need more time.
Pseudonym (IRE)
Australia filly. Half-sister to very smart 2-y-o 7f/1m winner (stays 1½m) Ghostwriter. Dam 1½m winner who stayed 1¾m. Watch for market clues.
Shady Dame
Shaped well when second in a 7f Newmarket maiden on debut, but still looked in need of the experience upped in grade when sixth of 10 in Oh So Sharp Stakes over the same C&D in October. Remains capable of better as she makes her return.
Tarrant (IRE)
Has shown promise both starts, third in 7f newcomers race at this course in April, before coming from further back than the first 2 when filling the same position in 7-runner maiden at Ascot (1¼m) last month. Major player with more still to offer.
Trelissick
Fared best of the newcomers when fourth in 14-runner novice at Kempton (7f) in April, but failed to progress when seventh of 10 in maiden at Windsor (1m) 24 days ago. Has something to find.
Tropical Sands
Was getting the hang of things late on when finishing fourth of 12 in novice at Lingfield (1m) on debut a month ago. Open to progress with this extra furlong expected to suit based on pedigree.
