Timeform View

SHAMSAT has some fair winning Flat form to his name and has also shaped well on both runs in this sphere since joining the excellent James Owen team so he looks the way to go here. Premier Tenor seems sure to build on a promising hurdling debut third over C&D and rates a big threat though, while Babs, Trouville and Nightflyer all need factoring into this intriguing novice hurdle too.

Timeform Comments

Drombeg Lad
Promising runner-up in a bumper here. Also shaped well when placed on both his runs over hurdles later last summer, third in C&D novice final one. Back from 9 months off but still needs considering.
Luckonthemoor
Linda's Lad gelding. Dam, lightly raced over hurdles and a 1½m winner on Flat, is a half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (2m-2½m winner) Smarty Wild. The market can guide for this newcomer on his belated debut.
Lucky Diamond (IRE)
Encouraging third in bumper here in October but he swerved right and unseated his rider soon after start in similar company at Uttoxeter 18 days ago. Goes hurdling now.
Trouville (IRE)
A fairly useful Flat winner who signed off for Simon & Ed Crisford with a good third at Chelmsford City (2m) last July. Since changed hands for 13,000 guineas and he's one to consider on his stable/hurdling bow despite his absence.
Nightflyer (GER)
A fair bumper performer (won on debut for Adrian Keatley). Faced a stiff task in Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April but not out of things on his hurdles debut.
Premier Tenor (FR)
Landed 13f minor event on sole start on the Flat in France in November. Hooded when a promising third of 10 for his new yard in maiden hurdle over C&D last month, running on late under a patient ride. Capable of better.
Shamsat (FR)
A fair Flat winner (stays 1½m) in France. Purchased for €26,000 and has made a promising start in this sphere, back from 4 months off with second of 10 (Premier Tenor 3l back in third) over C&D 20 days ago. Holds leading form claims.
Babs
Fairly useful bumper scorer. Built on her hurdling debut with second of 10 in novice at Newton Abbot (17f) 15 days ago, collared late having looked likely winner. May do better still so not out of things.
Hollysaway (IRE)
Little show on both her runs, twelfth of 14 in novice hurdle at Fontwell (2¼m) 36 days ago. Needs a subsequent breathing operation to spark major progress.
Amalfina
Fair maiden on the Flat for Karl Burke, posting a respectable third at Ayr (13f) when last seen in October. Changed hands for 7,000 guineas subsequently and she needs to hit the ground running on her yard/hurdling bow here.
