Timeform View

SUNRAY SHADOW arrives on the up and is fancied to land a hat-trick at the expense of Shallow River, who should fare much better on second start back from an absence.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Sunray Shadow traded at a high of 3.00 and Betfair SP of 2.54 when winning last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Gwennie May Boy (IRE)
Once-useful type who ended his time with Dan Skelton out of sorts and offered little in a pair of Graded hurdles for Olly Murphy last season. Drops appreciably in class but has questions to answer on first run for another new yard.
American Mike (IRE)
Grade 2-winning chaser for Gordon Elliott who posted his best effort for current stable when dead-heating in a handicap chase at Perth on penultimate start. Disappointed in first-time cheekpieces at Uttoxeter subsequently, and while 7 lb lower back over hurdles, he looks the stable second string.
Shallow River (IRE)
Typically found plenty for pressure when making his second start for Olly Murphy a winning one at Carlisle (25f, soft) in October 2024, and having surely needed his comeback run over an inadequate test at Hexham (2½m), he's entitled to go close with usual headgear back on.
Ballintubber Boy (IRE)
Runner-up in a couple of small-field hurdles last autumn, he probably needed the run on return at Huntingdon and while weighted to be competitive, it's difficult to have confidence given his often less-than-fluent jumping.
Sunray Shadow
Readily landed a first handicap hurdle success at Huntingdon prior to following up with a fair bit in hand on chase debut at this track (23f). He's taken his form to a new level on his previous 2 starts and a hat-trick beckons on return to hurdles.
