  1. Res Ipsa

  2. I Carry You Home

  3. Shorten The Winter (IRE)

Timeform View

In-form Ger Lyons looks good for another winner courtesy of RES IPSA, who shaped well when second at Killarney last week and will take plenty of stopping if improving again. I Carry You Home has the potential to leave the bare form of last autumn's Curragh debut behind and is second choice. Shorten The Winter and the selection's stablemate Camino Lad are newcomers to monitor in the betting.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Res Ipsa traded at a low of 1.22 and Betfair SP of 9.00 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Footstepstoglory (IRE)
Modest form over hurdles. 100/1, ninth of 15 in maiden at Gowran (9.5f, good) on Flat debut 9 days ago, not knocked about.
Stable Lane (IRE)
Showed ability in 2 outings over 1½m at Dundalk at the end of 2025. Drops significantly in trip on reappearance. Likely to be one for handicaps after this.
Poet's Willow (IRE)
Hasn't beaten a rival in 4 starts.
Camino Lad (IRE)
€25,000 foal, Flintshire gelding. Dam, winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 1m-9.2f winner), half-sister to smart 1½m-15f winner Ponte Tresa. Res Ipsa has to be considered the yard's first string but could still figure in a maiden which lacks depth.
Henry Hudson
Twice-raced gelding. 80/1, fifth of 11 in maiden at Dundalk (7f) 15 days ago. Others are preferred.
Highwayman (FR)
Well held in maidens over 7f and 6f in recent weeks. In top hands but possibly one who won't reveal his true potential until handicapping.
I Carry You Home
14/1, tenth of 15 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) on debut but has a good pedigree and is the type to go on to better things this year.
Pimlico Piranha
Saxon Warrior colt. Dam 11f-12.4f winner. The betting should help guide expectations.
Res Ipsa
Frankel colt. Met trouble when 5/4 for his debut last summer and showed why he went off at such a short price on that occasion when a promising second of 9 in 1m maiden at Killarney (good) 4 weeks ago. Tongue tie worn then is retained. Hard to beat with improvement likely.
Roman Sands (IRE)
Well held both starts and almost certainly more one for handicaps.
Shay's Dream (IRE)
18/1, last of 14 in maiden at Dundalk (7f) on debut in November. I Carry You Home is the stable first string here based on jockey bookings.
Shorten The Winter (IRE)
€36,000 yearling. Coulsty half-brother to 7f/1m winner Callianassa. Dam, lightly raced (best effort at 5f), half-sister to smart 11f-17f winner Amade. Interesting newcomer for yard which can ready one.
Willie's Mill (IRE)
Profitable gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful 1m winner Goldinthesea. The market will be the best guide.
Six Wings (IRE)
Well held all 3 starts and makes no appeal.
