Timeform View

LOHOOBB took a step forward when second at Lingfield 17 days ago and, with the promise of more to come, is taken to deny the progressive Euphonia her hat-trick. Lion of Mali was going the right way prior to getting stuck in the mud last time and rates best of the rest.

Timeform Comments

Euphonia
Progressive sort who has taken off in turf handicaps on last 2 starts, winning a large-field affair at Leicester in April before following up in 12-runner event at Haydock last month, beating Stoic Poet by 3¾ lengths. Up another 10 lb but yard is flying at present and another bold showing expected.
Lohoobb
Unexposed colt who wasn't seen to best effect despite finding only Mighty Vega too strong in a 7f Lingfield handicap last month, caught wider than ideal and also lit up once bumped. Looks more than capable of exploiting his current mark granted better luck.
Dark Sovereign (IRE)
Off 9 months and gelded, matched his juvenile form when 4 lengths third of 11 to Freddie Steady Go in novice at Carlisle on return, not settling fully but staying on final 1f. Likely has more to offer now tackling handicaps, though has looked as if ready for a step up to 1m.
Enamorus (IRE)
Placed on all 3 starts as a juvenile but didn't step up on those efforts when only 8¾ lengths fifth of 11 to Dublin Bay on handicap debut at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago.
Kilkenny Warrior (IRE)
Ran well when 2½ lengths third of 11 to Caviar Cowboy at Lingfield in April but didn't stay the longer trip when down the field in similar event at Wolverhampton last time. Drop back to 7f will suit and cheekpieces now applied but likely to prove vulnerable to less-exposed sorts.
Kimbara
Has contested some pretty good races, showing fair form along the way but faded final 1f having pulled hard at Yarmouth (1m) last month (winner successful again since). Improvement needed now tackling a handicap.
Starryfield (IRE)
Placed in a trio of sprint maiden/novice events first 3 starts but didn't convince with his stamina upped to 7f on handicap bow and disappointed back at 6f last time. Questions to answer.
Ecclefechan
A fair maiden who posted his best effort this year when fourth in a 6f handicap won by Akabusi in May. Has looked likely to be suited by a return to this trip, including on latest start, but will likely need a few to underperform if he's to break his duck here.
Southern Warrior (IRE)
Won 6f handicap at Newcastle in March for George Scott but hasn't built on it since, including on stable/turf debut last time.
Lion Of Mali
Improved markedly following a gelding operation, winning 3 of his first 4 starts this year and producing a tenacious display at Leicester (7f) when last successful in April. Appeared unsuited by soft ground when below form at Haydock last time and could bounce back if conditions are more favourable.
Robert Anstruther
Has now gone 6 runs without success but has shaped with promise at times, notably on his return and when not seen to best effect at Salisbury last time. Still learning to settle but he has a bigger performance in him when everything falls into place.
Galba
Placed twice from 4 starts but failed to improve from stiff-looking mark when only mid-field at Windsor on handicap debut 20 days ago.
