Timeform View

The way ULTRASOUL ground it out at Nottingham when last seen in the autumn suggests this step up to 1¼m could play to his strengths and he's preferred to Rastnet, who is building up a solid record in handicaps, and Vincent Rocks. Naval Command was a short-priced favourite on his first outing for Ralph Beckett and it'll also be interesting to see whether his supporters are prepared to give him another chance.

Timeform Comments

Savvy Victory (IRE)
Smart at his peak but drew a blank in 2025 and hasn't shown enough in his 2 outings this year to think his losing run is likely to end now.
Pride Of Donegal (IRE)
Landed a pair of 1½m Wolverhampton handicaps before recording a good third of 5 on his turf debut at Thirsk (1½m, good to soft) in April. Something can't have been right when last of 8 at Newmarket since and capable of bouncing back.
Ultrasoul (IRE)
Ended 2025 by digging deep to land a Nottingham handicap (8.3f, soft) in October. Straightforward sort who could be capable of even better for his leading stable.
Rastnet (IRE)
AW novice winner in December and better form in defeat in handicaps since, including third of 9 over C&D (good to firm) at the May meeting. Won't need to pull out much more for first-time cheekpieces.
Lexington Jet (IRE)
Free-going front runner who has improved for application of blinkers this year, landing a fourth success since January when proving too strong for 10 rivals over 7f here (good) a fortnight ago. The much longer trip is a bigger concern than the 3 lb rise.
Impartiality
A three-time winner (around 1m) early last summer. Caught the eye on second start of the season in refitted cheekpieces at Thirsk (1m) 4 weeks ago but has stamina to prove now moving up to 1¼m.
Naval Command
Fairly useful form in 3 outings for Charlie Appleby. Sent off 15/8 but shaped as if needing first outing for 11 months when sixth of 7 on 11.5f Windsor handicap/yard debut 26 days ago. First-time blinkers and tongue strap combination is reached for after that. Remains early days.
Vincent Rocks (IRE)
Bagged 1m novices at Nottingham and Southwell on his first two runs. Well held in handicaps on next 2 outings but got his career back on track with cheekpieces added (retained) when third of 9 in 1m Pontefract handicap (good) 45 days ago. Back up in trip. Remains unexposed.
Golden West
Useful at best for Karl Burke but absent since finishing eighth of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (1¼m, good) in September 2024. Can only watch on belated return for new yard unless the betting suggests otherwise.
Sea Founder
Pair of Class 5 all-weather wins this year, including at Lingfield (1m) 6 weeks ago. The return to turf shouldn't be an issue (won Windsor maiden last year) but the higher grade might be.
Due To Henry
More miss than hit last season. Back on form when narrowly denied on Haydock reappearance (10.5f, good to firm) 23 days ago but would have won had he knuckled down a bit more. Stamina probably stretched when below par over 11.5f at Windsor since.
