Timeform View

Jennie Candlish saddles 3 here and her PERGAMON could prove the answer to this competitive handicap given he returns to the Flat on a potentially good mark judged on his recent improvement over hurdles when a dual winner. Fox Journey has started life really well for Declan Carroll and seems sure to be on the premises, while Solar Pass and Cascade Hall also need considering.

Timeform Comments

Fox Journey
Useful handicapper at his best for Sir Michael Stoute. Without a win when trained by Kevin Ryan in 2025 but has made an excellent start for current yard, third of 17 in handicap at York (1½m) last month. Very much one to consider.
Savrola (IRE)
In fine form in 2025, winning twice, but not seen out after July. Made a low-key return from 10 months off at Hamilton (13f) last month though so needs to take a major step forward.
It's All About You (IRE)
C&D winner in August. Given a considerate return after 7 months off when thirteenth here last month. No surprise to see him- take a step forward. One of 3 for the yard.
Barenboim
Made all at Kempton in January but his more recent form is far less encouraging, last of 8 in handicap at Newbury (2m) 12 days ago. Others are more persuasive.
Solar Pass
Resumed winning ways at Southwell (1½m) in March and arrives in very good order, second of 9 over C&D 14 days ago. Enters calculations once more.
Dino Bellagio
A dual winner in 2025, including here, but he went too freely after 7 months off when a well-held third of 4 in handicap at Nottingham (1¾m) 35 days ago. Can take a step forward.
Kingdom Of Stars (FR)
Scored at Kempton (2m) last July and placed three times later in 2025 for Tom Ward. Pulled up twice recently over hurdles though so needs to bounce back returned to this sphere.
Heathen
A 3-time winner for David O'Meara who has made a positive start for his new handler, back from 9 months off with third of 9 in handicap over C&D 14 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up.
Pergamon (FR)
Relatively lightly raced on the Flat (fair winner in France) and he comes here on the up over hurdles for his current yard, bagging 2m handicaps at Huntingdon and Ludlow recently. Could prove well treated back in this sphere so he's interesting.
Action Pact
Gained a first victory at Pontefract in October. Off 7 months and given a patient ride when fourth of 7 in handicap there (17f) on his return 22 days ago. Not ruled out with that run under his belt.
Cascade Hall (IRE)
Has resumed better than ever this season and he easily went 2-3 in 5-runner handicap at Musselburgh (2m) 8 days ago. Up 6 lb and this is tougher but he's not taken lightly in his current mood.
