Timeform View

CAPTAIN CESS is unexposed as a sprinter and gets the vote to make a winning start for Declan Carroll. Desert Master will be a threat if backing up his latest Doncaster second, while Bayraat also merits plenty of respect on the back of 2 good runner-up efforts at Doncaster last month. Blackjack needs monitoring in the betting back on turf after a breathing operation.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Desert Master traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts: Aurora's Doublesix traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Captain Cess (IRE)
Campaigned as a miler last season but ran his best race yet dropped to a sprint trip when close second of 12 on 6f Chepstow reappearance last month (final start for Adrian Wintle). A repeat of that form would likely see him go close on his debut for the Declan Carroll yard.
Blackjack
Multiple all-weather winner who was also successful on turf earlier in career. Operating below his best on all-weather earlier this year but dangerously well treated off a lower turf mark if a recent breathing operation has had a positive effect.
Bayraat
On a long losing run but returned with 2 good runner-up efforts over 6f on good to firm at Redcar last month. Likely to be in the thick of things again.
Amerjeet
Has gone 24 runs without winning. Left poorly placed following a tardy start when sixth of 9 over C&D (firm) 11 days ago but he's not one to be making excuses for. Cheekpieces back on.
Newyorkstateofmind
Losing streak stretches 25 runs to autumn of 2024. Creditable second at Catterick (5f, good) last month but not in the same form when fifth at Bath 11 days later.
Desert Master
Three-time all-weather winner who came as close as he ever has to breaking his duck on turf when second of 16 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm, 50/1) 9 days ago. Not taken lightly.
Pinpoint
Won over 5f at Hamilton for Ewan Whillans last June but mostly below par since. The headgear he's worn in recent outings is left off on first start for new yard.
Isla Bella
Plenty of creditable efforts in defeat on all-weather this year but below-form fifth back on turf at Pontefract (5f, good) last Monday.
Aurora's Doublesix (IRE)
Poor maiden who has struggled in recent starts. Very hard to warm to.
