Timeform View

KNICKS' losing run tempers enthusiasm to a degree, yet he arrives having posted easily his best effort of the season when a close third at Pontefract last week and could well be ready to capitalise on what is undoubtedly a good mark. Midnight Lir and Albegone head up the dangers, with Westgate Warrior another to consider.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Blue Lakota traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Midnight Lir traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Dc Cogent
Newcastle maiden winner in early 2025 who posted one of his better efforts on turf when third at Nottingham (5f) in May. Excuses when finishing midfield at Carlisle next time but they were hard to come by when last of 8 at Ripon 3 weeks ago.
Dandy Dinmont (IRE)
Showed form akin to last season's best when narrowly regaining winning thread at Beverley (5f) 2 starts ago. However, not in anything like the same form following a token rise when last of 10 at Carlisle since. Needs to bounce back
Westgate Warrior
Front-runner who scored at Nottingham (5f) in October and stepped up on his seasonal return when second back at that C&D in May. Not in anything like the same form at Southwell latest but his hanging then suggests all perhaps wasn't right on the day. Better anticipated.
Knicks (IRE)
Hasn't won for a long time but his mark reflects that and he turned in his best effort of the season minus cheekpieces when a close third at Pontefract (5f) last week, challenging from further back than the first 2. Interesting from a good berth to work from.
Blue Lakota (IRE)
Five-time all-weather winner, the latest at Newcastle (6f) in January but he's yet to prove himself on turf and came in last of 10 at Carlisle 95f, soft) 4 weeks ago.
Crocus Time (IRE)
Winless for former yard but has hardly put a foot wrong since joining present connections, making it 3 wins from her last 5 starts at Wetherby (5.5f) 12 days ago. Seen to maximum effect from the front on that occasion though, and she now finds herself back in a higher grade.
Midnight Lir (IRE)
Losing run stretches back to 2023 but he went with more spark in first-time blinkers/refitted tongue strap when third at Carlisle (5f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Now his task is to prove he can build on that.
Startling
Four-time winner over 5f for David O'Meara who was clearly fitter for a recent run when posting a good third of 11 in a C&D handicap 11 days ago. Proved reasonably consistent during 2025 and she ought to go well again.
Albegone
Kept busy since the turn of the year and from a further reduced mark, he ran well in a switch of headgear when third at Nottingham (5f, soft) 5 days ago. Usual cheekpieces go back on and he's certainly capable of playing a part for all his losing run is mounting up.
Irish Dancer (IRE)
C&D winner who resumed winning ways at Catterick (5f) 2 starts back prior to a rare below-par display when eighth over C&D 11 days ago. Refitting of blinkers could well sharpen him up but he looks less-than-ideally drawn in stall 2.
Invincible Crown (IRE)
A two-time 5f Wolverhampton scorer in 2025 who can make things hard for himself at the start and that's what happened when seventh over C&D 11 days ago (reared as stalls opened). Lurks on a good mark but he does come with a few risks attached.
