Timeform View

Second to a useful prospect at Newmarket last time, BALLISTY is fancied to go one better. The competition for the minors looks wide open but perhaps Alpha Legend can bounce back in a first-time tongue strap.

Timeform Comments

Alpha Legend (IRE)
Eighth on debut in a Leicester maiden (race has produced several winners), he didn't see out his race in a similar event Doncaster subsequently but is worth another chance in a first-time tongue strap over a longer trip.
Ballisty (IRE)
Finished one place better than on debut when runner-up at Newmarket last time, no match for a useful prospect but beating the rest well enough, and this looks a good opportunity to get off the mark.
Duidin (IRE)
Went backwards from a solid third at Kempton when a well-held eighth (behind Ballisty) at Newmarket, though this is hardly a strong race, and he cannot be discounted if building on his debut at the second attempt.
Lincoln Warrior (IRE)
Showed ability from the front but folded under pressure when sixth of 7 on debut (12/1) at Carlisle (5f) and while bred for even further, the extra furlong can only help.
Ten Of Clubs
Foaled March 7. 22,000 gns yearling, Showcasing gelding. Dam, ran twice in France, half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Taamol. Market usually a good guide for stable's debutants.
Ventura Power
Failed to progress from his debut when fourth of 10 in a novice at Windsor (5f), however, he's in good hands and back up in trip.
Lopefernza
Foaled February 13. Lope Y Fernandez colt. Dam 9.5f-1½m winner. Yard's newcomers typically need the experience but betting should guide.
South West (IRE)
Makes some appeal on pedigree but having been near the top of the betting, he only showed greenness in a relatively valuable maiden at Bath on debut.
Laylaty
Foaled March 19. Ardad filly. Half-sister to winner up to 1¼m Big Song. Dam 1½m winner. Debutant from in-form yard at least warrants a market check.
Ouragan (IRE)
Foaled March 5. €10,000 yearling, £15,000 2-y-o, Bayside Boy filly. Half-sister to useful winner up to 7f Ghost Mode. Dam unraced. Stable more than capable of readying one first time up and the market should offer plenty of clues.
