Timeform View

TARMONBARRY KID progressed markedly to get off the mark at Doncaster last month and is fancied to follow up despite a 6 lb higher mark, with Whernside and Spirit Of The Blues heading the opposition.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Tarmonbarry Kid traded at a high of 7.20 and Betfair SP of 11.50 when winning last time, a race in which it raced prominently and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Beyond The Bar (IRE)
A fair 1m winner at Redcar as a juvenile, but that very much a standout in relation to overall profile and, having been gelded prior to return, hasn't made much impact in handicaps on last 2 starts. A repeat of his Redcar effort will see him involved but comes with obvious risks attached.
Whernside
Progressed when runner-up in novice company at Newcastle and Redcar on his first two starts this year but plateaued when only fourth in a maiden at Musselburgh last time. Still early days, the step up to 1m and switch to handicaps could prompt further improvement.
Spiritoftheblues
Won 7f maiden at Ayr on debut. Was sent off favourite but didn't see the race out upped in trip at Leicester last time. Reverts to 1m on handicap debut but improvement required.
Tarmonbarry Kid (IRE)
Much improved when winning 14-runner handicap at Doncaster last month, beating Mayflower Billy by ¾ length. A 6 lb rise for that success looks manageable and another bold bid looks assured.
Just A Gambler (IRE)
Made a winning reappearance after being gelded at Chelmsford (1m) in March and backed that up when third at Kempton 13 days later. Has found run of good form coming to a halt since, though, with little encouragement to be gleaned from latest performance.
Attention Seeker (IRE)
A less than straightforward maiden who has shown a bit more of late, aided by an enterprising ride when 3¾ lengths fourth of 10 at Carlisle, though he is not one to rely on repeating that effort.
