Timeform View

PRAIRIE QUEEN looks a natural over fences and is still on a lowly mark even after her Hereford success so the follow up looks on the cards. Auntie Maggie had no chance with a handicap blot last time and is second choice ahead of Definite Dream.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Cawthorne Cracker traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Definite Dream traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 3 starts.

Timeform Comments

Definite Dream (IRE)
Consistent over hurdles without winning and gave it a good go switched to fences at Stratford (17f, good to soft) last month, going down by only a nose to one who won again next time. Likely to be bang there if in the same form.
Southey (IRE)
Placed in maiden hurdles in 2024 and runner-up in a 2m handicap chase at Ayr in January on his final start for Stuart Crawford. Remote fourth back hurdling at Hereford for new yard 6 weeks ago and has since undergone a breathing operation.
Independent Jimmy
Winner of handicap hurdle at Bangor last autumn. Also placed over fences on next 2 outings (including here) but weakened quickly back from a break at Uttoxeter last month.
Auntie Maggie (IRE)
Front-runner who won 3 times over hurdles last spring. Best effort over fences when 6 lengths second to Beorma (who has won again since) over C&D (good to soft) 3 weeks ago. Considered.
Caterpillar Girl
Decisive bumper winner last spring but has disappointed over jumps since, including remote fourth on recent C&D chase debut (didn't convince with jumping). Tongue tied first time here.
Greer Hill (IRE)
Has yet to offer much over hurdles, capitulating tamely again in this headgear combination last time. The fact he was runner-up on sole outing in Irish points provides some hope now chasing but it's still hard to be confident.
Cawthorne Cracker (IRE)
Three-time hurdle winner. Has shown promise when third on 2 of 3 chase outings in recent months and he won't need to pull out much more for a change of headgear (first-time blinkers for cheekpieces).
Daany (IRE)
Front-runner who was underwhelming over hurdles last season but back on track sent chasing when second at Wincanton in April. Clearly not himself under a change of tactics at Hereford last month and bounced straight back when second of 8 at Fontwell (2¼m, good to firm) 9 days later.
Prairie Queen
Has taken well to chasing this spring, placing on first 3 attempts before making all at Hereford (2m, good) 6 weeks ago. Her jumping looks a real asset and a 4 lb rise may not stop her.
