Timeform View

The combination of a step back up in trip and drop in grade will surely show QUATRE BRAS in a much better light so he could be the answer. Battle of Maldon will doubtless be popular on handicap debut, with Dawn Coming also of some interest.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Palace Rock shouldn’t be inconvenienced if looking to adopt a prominent position: Despite a suspicion the pace will be sound, those held up such as Quatre Bras usually is are still likely to have their work cut out.

Timeform Comments

Omniscient
Cheekpieces on for first time when below form fifth of 12 in novice hurdle at Wexford (2m, heavy). Off 20 months so well-being taken on trust on first run for yard after leaving Gordon Elliott. Tongue strap also applied.
Quatre Bras (IRE)
Ended 2025 better than ever, winning twice at Dundalk. Good second at Naas in March and again emerged with credit from a poor position when fourth at Leopardstown in April. Not in same form both starts since but 7f an insufficient test latest. Much better expected here down in class.
Satono Chevalier (IRE)
Finally capitalised on a career-low mark at Navan in March on final start for Aidan Melia and quickly doubled his tally on turf at Ballinrobe last month. Brushed aside from revised mark at Gowran since, though.
Slurricane (IRE)
Rather in-and-out over hurdles but landed a big-field handicap on the level fitted with cheekpieces in October and close to that level when fourth at Gowran over this trip in April, giving best only late on. Could never get involved following a tardy start at Fairyhouse latest.
Dark Summit
Maiden winner over 1m last year when trained in France. Looks to have been brought along gradually in handicaps for new yard this season with his mark falling steadily as a result. Up in distance.
Genoah (IRE)
Four-time all-weather winner but has yet to prove as good on turf, albeit stretched by 1¾m at the Curragh 4 weeks ago. Cheekpieces on down in distance.
Dawn Coming (IRE)
Failed to build on the promise of his Flat debut in 3 further starts in 2025. Pretty consistent over hurdles for this stable and up in trip for handicap bow, he's worth a look in the betting.
Palace Rock (IRE)
Placed 3 times at Dundalk in early-2024 but this dual-purpose performer was more miss than hit over fences that season. Off 16 months.
Chemdawg (IRE)
In good form over hurdles at a lowly level, successful at Kilbeggan before finishing second at Limerick. A while since she's shown much on the level but blinkers on for first time in this code.
Eben Zaabeel
Fairly useful maiden on the Flat (stays 1½m) for Charles Hills, runner-up on all-weather final 2 starts in 2024. Missed last year and has failed to make an impact in 4 starts (including hurdling debut) for current yard.
Battle Of Maldon (IRE)
Fitted with cheekpieces and found an easier maiden to get off the mark in Britain at Chepstow (with cheekpieces on) a month ago. Opening mark no gift but this step up in trip will suit so he's of interest.
Mighty Wave (IRE)
Thrice-raced maiden. 22/1, fifth of 8 in maiden at Leopardstown (1½m, good) 40 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Blinkers on first time for handicap debut.
