Timeform View

No shortage of chances in the opener but free-going LOHOOBB leaves the impression he could be well served by this return to sprinting and shades the vote. Chepstow winner On Edge and Grey Horizon are others to consider.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

In a race that lacks confirmed pace-forcers, Punchbowl Flyer could get the run of things: Of the better-fancied horses, On Edge is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

On Edge
Won at Bath (5.7f) in September and settled better when successful on return from 7 months off at Chepstow (5f, good to firm) 25 days ago. Versatile as regards ground and he can go well again from 2 lb higher mark.
Hierarchy (IRE)
Overcame a positional disadvantage when resuming winning ways at Lingfield (6f) in February but not been in same form since, reverting to his slow-starting ways when third on turf back there last time.
Safari Dream (IRE)
Rattled off a quick-fire 6f hat-trick this time last year and proved as good as ever when resuming winning ways at Salisbury (6f) in May. Possibly found 7-day turnaround against him at Catterick later in the month and he's a likely candidate to bounce back having been given time ahead of this.
Proof
Course winner who showed a good attitude when doubling his tally on reappearance/all-weather debut at Southwell (5f) in April. Exploits have been mixed subsequently, albeit he was taken off his feet in a higher grade than he need contest at Epsom 18 days ago (tongue tied). This more suitable.
Grey Horizon
On the up in all-weather handicaps over the winter and he comes here in good form, resuming winning ways at Brighton (6f) in May prior to posting a good third off this mark at Windsor 2 weeks ago. Can remain competitive now taking on his elders for the first time.
Lohoobb
Free-going sort who was an encouraging second at Lingfield (7f) on his penultimate start but he again failed to settle fully when fifth at Sandown (7f) 11 days ago. Could be suited by this return to sprinting and unlikely we've yet seen all he has to offer.
Punchbowl Flyer (IRE)
Kept busy since the turn of the year and built on recent promise when resuming winning ways in 7-runner handicap at Chepstow (6f) 8 days ago, utilising his beneficial draw nearest the stand rail. Respected under a penalty for all this looks a tougher assignment.
