Timeform View

WINE DARK SEA scored with something in hand at Ascot on his return, form which has been boosted since, and he can continue his progress to follow up. Next best could be Dunkeld Dreamer, who arrives on the back of a recent success at York and remains lightly raced at around this trip, ahead of Gaelic Approach.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Gaelic Approach is one who could suffer as a result: There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Golden West is one who may benefit from being produced later.

Timeform Comments

Wanderlust (FR)
Ended his time for Andre Fabre with victory in 10.5f Angers maiden in September. Made a positive start for new yard when fourth of 9 in handicap at Chester in May and ran respectably when also making the frame at Newbury last time. Worth another try at this longer trip.
Wine Dark Sea
Has taken his form up to a useful level since handicapping, winning at Kempton last summer and ending the campaign with a close second in Old Rowley Cup at Newmarket (strong form). Scored readily at Ascot on return last month and he promises to have even more to offer.
Secret Beach (IRE)
Won twice last season for Ben Brookhouse. Well held on first 2 starts for current yard (hurdling debut on first occasion), but with recent run behind him he returned to form when 2¼ lengths fifth of 15 in handicap at Chester last month. More needed.
Golden West
Useful at best for Karl Burke and made an encouraging stable debut after 21-month absence when fourth of 10 in handicap at Chester (10.3f) 11 days ago, despite having been denied a clear run. Interesting if able to back up reappearance turned out again quickly.
Ludo's Landing (IRE)
Dual course winner who got off the mark for the year with a decisive success at Newcastle (12.5f) in March. After a couple of lesser efforts, returned to form when 1¾ lengths third of 4 at Hamilton (13f) last time. Task is now to build on latest run.
Trojan Sun
Successful 4 times in 2025 and benefited from a drop back in grade this season when winning over 1¾m at this course 9 days ago. Has a penalty to defy, though, as he returns to this higher level.
Inappropriate (IRE)
Fairly useful on the Flat but mixed form early this year, following a good second at Newcastle (1¼m) in January with a poor run over the same C&D. Hit and miss back over hurdles since, well held at Aintree 6 weeks ago. Switches to cheekpieces on first run since leaving Jedd O'Keeffe
Austrian Theory (IRE)
Hasn't kicked on from his good fifth in the John Smith's Cup at York last summer, but in first-time cheekpieces there were better signs when fifth of 18 in handicap at York 12 days ago. Losing run is mounting up, though he's now back down to a handy mark.
Eroico (IRE)
Fair form in maidens for Noel Meade in Ireland last year. However, made a low-key seasonal/stable debut in handicap at Musselburgh in April and fared little better in first-time hood when down the field at Thirsk 24 days ago.
Dunkeld Dreamer (IRE)
Made all to open her account for the year at Haydock (1m) in April. Has continued in good heart since, ridden more patiently upped in trip when adding to her tally in female amateur riders race at York (1½m) 11 days ago. Merits consideration.
Alpine Sierra (IRE)
Benefited from going back up in trip last month, completing a hat-trick when making all in 7-runner handicap over this C&D 26 days ago. Now returns to a higher grade but he's not dismissed lightly in his current form.
Gaelic Approach
Has shown improved form sent handicapping this season, winning at Leicester (1½m) in April and Redcar (1¾m) last month. Ran at least as well upped in class when third of 6 at Doncaster (14.5f) 18 days ago and he can make his presence felt.
