Jim Goldie is triple-handed in this and his ANNANDALE is strongly fancied to supplement his recent course success under a 4-lb penalty at the expense of Falaise Blanc, who ran a cracker when runner-up here earlier in the month but does need to put a lesser effort behind him since. Uncle Liam looks best of the rest.

Timeform Comments

Animato
On a long losing run but he was in good nick over hurdles this winter. Finished detached from the rest on his first venture on the Flat since last July at Doncaster (1½m, firm) just under 3 weeks ago, possibly wanting for fitness after 3 months on the sidelines. This should reveal more.
One Million Dreams (FR)
Successful twice on the Flat for Nick Littmoden last summer but hasn't shown much for multiple connections this time around and was again down the field in reapplied cheekpieces at Ripon last week. Below last winning mark and headgear left off but hard to make a logical case for him.
Alnayef (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who didn't look very enthusiastic when seventh of 9 at Southwell (1½m) back in January. Handicapper eases his grip, but leap of faith required to get involved.
Annandale (IRE)
Stepped forward from recent run to gain first success of the year in 7-runner event at this course (11f, good) 8 days ago, staying on to lead close home. Carries a 4-lb penalty and remains on a workable mark based on last season's form. Form pick.
Uncle Liam (IRE)
Knocked firmly at the door during second half of last season and surpassed previous exploits this time around when shedding maiden tag in determined fashion over 1½m here earlier in the month. Found things tougher from 3 lb higher here (11f, good) last week, however.
Falaise Blanc (FR)
Just the one win to his name but returned to form out of the blue when very good second of 11 here (1½m, good) earlier in the month, clear of rest. Failed to repeat that in a change of headgear at Ayr (13f, soft) since so need to bounce back quickly.
Apache Eagle
Long-standing maiden but placed 5 times this year. However, he produced a laboured effort at Newcastle earlier in the month and unseated rider after stumbling mid-race at Ripon (1½m, good to firm) last week.
