CAUGHTINYOURTRANCE has been firmly knocking on the door of late and Jimmy Moffatt's 7-y-o is fancied to go one better than on both previous outings here last month reunited with Brian Hughes. Stratagem was an impressive winner at this track last month and he looks the selection's biggest danger, with Tiger Orchid also considered back chasing having snapped a lengthy losing sequence at Uttoxeter recently.

Timeform Comments

Caughtinyourtrance (IRE)
Dual winning hurdler who has made a positive start to his chasing career, making it 2 runner-up finishes from as many starts here last month, his recent conqueror going in again since to remain unbeaten over fences. Heads back up in distance and worth siding with reunited with Hughes.
Red Happy (FR)
Rediscovered his shooting boots in second half of 2024/25, completing the hat-trick in a Class 2 handicap at Carlisle (3m). However, he's refused to race twice following a 13-month absence recently and is one to avoid.
Stratagem (FR)
Seemed to lose the plot for his previous yard but back firing again of late, scoring at Sedgefield in April and doubled his tally for current connections in 5-runner veterans' event at this course (29f, good) last month. 8 lb rise to contend with but would be folly to dismiss.
Tiger Orchid (IRE)
Veteran who gained due reward for his consistency since joining the yard as he ended a long losing run in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (23f, good to soft) just over 3 weeks ago, leading approaching last. Ought to give another good account back chasing.
Ivane (FR)
Yet another good advert for James Owen, landing the Durham National back in this sphere at Sedgefield (29.2f) in October. A handful of creditable efforts since but looked rusty after 3 months off when down the field at Stratford (3½m, good) last month. Should strip fitter here.
Fairlawn Flyer
Thorough stayer who won this race as final leg of 5-timer in 2025. Would have benefited more testing conditions given the way he shaped when 10 lengths third of 5 to Stratagem at this course (29f, good) last month so others preferred with that in mind. Blinkers go back on.
Le Grand Vert (FR)
Scored at Ayr in February and well suited by the emphasis on stamina late on as he posted as good an effort as he has since leaving France as a 6-y-o when landing 16-runner event at Punchestown (25f, good) just under 3 weeks ago. 10 lb higher here but respected nonetheless.
