A tight handicap but the vote goes to AL HOFZAN, who shaped like a winner in waiting at Leicester last time. Al Muqdad has a good record here and in this grade, he's feared most, while Shazani could go close if allowed another easy lead.

Timeform Comments

Bella Bisbee
Returned to her best with a straightforward success under this apprentice over C&D 12 days ago and while she may again be well positioned close to the pace, a 5 lb penalty probably leaves her vulnerable.
Beale Street
5-time winner at Newcastle who ran as well as he has on turf (0-13) when runner-up in a solid handicap for the grade over C&D last time. Remains 11 lb below his all-weather mark, however, this race isn't guaranteed to suit his come-from-behind style.
Al Muqdad
C&D winner who was back in a 0-70 for the first time since last winter's Newcastle success when third behind a thriving sort at Ayr last time, and he makes plenty of appeal with Daniel Tudhope returning.
Magic Music
Lightly-raced 4-y-o who finished third in a similar event here before justifying support to get off the mark over C&D last time (always holding on). She's back in a slightly better race, however, it's hard to rule out further progress given her low mileage.
Shazani (FR)
Doubled his tally in a classified stakes over 1m here prior to finishing second in a better C&D handicap last October and having produced his best effort of this season when runner-up off a career-low mark over C&D last time, he's a danger if allowed to dominate.
Al Hofzan (IRE)
Maiden who shaped better than the result when a close fourth at Leicester last time, having been bumped early/squeezed out late on. That form has merit and while no guarantee of such a well-run race here, he's still worth siding with given his unexposed profile on turf. Tongue strap on first time.
Enpassant (IRE)
Suited by a well-run 7f when notching a second all-weather success of the year at Lingfield last time. Pace set-up perhaps less favourable on this occasion, though he's still handicapped to be competitive off 3 lb higher on return to turf.
