Timeform View

RIZAL ran well on his first start for George Scott when third at Kempton in March, despite having not been ideally placed, and he can build on that effort to get off the mark. He is taken to get the better of Superfortress, who remains lightly raced for his age, while Finlaggan could yet do better for current connections.

Timeform Comments

Superfortress (IRE)
Produced best effort making only second handicap start when runner-up at Beverley (8.5f) last month, despite meeting trouble. Seemed unsuited by the track when down the field at Ripon last time, so he's worth another chance back up in trip.
Rizal (FR)
Showed promise in handicaps for Johnny Murtagh last year and shaped well on seasonal/stable debut when third of 12 at Kempton (11f) in March, coming from further back than the other principals. Could be ready to open his account.
Finlaggan
French recruit who showed improved form upped to 1¼m when close second on handicap debut at Pontefract in April. Excuses next time before getting back on track in cheekpieces when fourth of 8 at Pontefract 24 days ago. Shortlisted with tongue strap added.
Lordsbridge Grey
Improved sent handicapping when third at Yarmouth (1m) on final outing last year. Caught wide at Southwell on reappearance before a below-par effort at Brighton, but he's been well found in the market on both occasions. Interesting if the support returns as he goes up in trip.
Phaedra
Won 3 times on turf for Richard Hannon in 2025 and has made the frame on 3 occasions campaigned on all-weather since joining current yard this year. However, run of good form came to a halt when last of 10 at Wolverhampton 25 days ago. Tongue strap reached for.
Thequietman
Returned from a lengthy absence with an encouraging third in 7f novice at Southwell in December on stable debut. However, his form has gone backwards in 4 starts this year, tailed off at Pontefract earlier this month (reportedly bled).
Stipulation (IRE)
Recorded back-to-back wins at Yarmouth and Wolverhampton last year. Proved consistent afterwards until having excuses the last twice, denied a clear run upped to 11.5f at Windsor 11 days ago. No surprise to see him bounce back.
Dingwall
Won twice at Wolverhampton in November but continues to be held back by his slow starts, losing plenty of ground when fifth of 8 at Musselburgh 3 weeks ago. Needs things to drop right and might not get his favoured strong pace to aim at here.
